Baghdad Car Bombs Kill at Least Five Policemen
Mar 03, 2005

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Two car bombs exploded near Iraq's Interior Ministry in Baghdad on Thursday, killing at least five policemen and wounding several others in relentless violence overshadowing efforts to form a new government.

A police source said the car bombs exploded just outside the heavily guarded ministry in central Baghdad, part of a guerrilla campaign to stall the formation of the new government expected to be named in the next few weeks.

Across Iraq, suicide bombers and clashes between insurgents and the U.S. military added 10 to a death toll that climbs steadily every day, and in the north gunmen sabotaged power supplies -- underscoring the problems the new ministers face.

(I think this is a new story? At this point the bombings are like the weather in FL during the summer. Just use the same copy and change the date.)

Car bombs kill six across Iraq, Shiites pressure Kurds on government

BAGHDAD (AFP) - Two suicide car bombs exploded outside Iraq (news - web sites)'s interior ministry, killing five policemen, as Shiite political parties piled pressure on the Kurds to join them in a governing coalition.

And a car bomb later the same day by the local police headquarters in Baquba, northeast of the capital, killed one person and wounded 18, including five policemen, local police said.

The bombs in Baghdad went off during the morning rush hour, with the first vehicle serving as a decoy for the second and more powerful blast outside the ministry, a strategic post in Iraq's battle against the insurgency.
