New (US) Spy Plane To Shadow N. Korea
The U.S. military in South Korea said Tuesday it will begin flying its newest unmanned spy planes near the border with North Korea this week.

The Shadow 200 Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicles will help the U.S. military to monitor North Korean military activities along the 2½-mile-wide, 155-mile-long Demilitarized Zone between the two Koreas.

The U.S. military said in June that it planned to pull U.S. troops further away from the DMZ, the world's most heavily armed border, but remained committed to defend South Korea against possible North Korean provocations.

I wonder what would happen if a country flew a spy plane on one of the United States' borders?

1. They're baiting the North.
The embargo is another example. They want the North to take the first swing.

2. Well, let's see....
We've got a bunch of PAC-3 anti-missile batteries in place along the border. Now we're flying the "newest unmanned spy planes" (although the Army has been flying them since 2001) along the border.

Why don't we moon them and get it over with? :eyes: What, are all the diplomats busy?

3. If this is to monitor the DMZ
I infer the planes will be flying over SK territory paralel to the truce line. We have always monitored the DMZ and fly whatever aircraft necessary to accomplish this mission.

Other then the airplane used, how is this anything new ?
