Possible Tornado Hits Isabel-Damaged Va
http://customwire.ap.org/dynamic/stories/I/ISABEL?SITE=WVHUN&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT

A possible tornado damaged sections of the Richmond area Tuesday and torrential rain flooded parts of Maryland, adding to the power outages and other problems the region already faced from Hurricane Isabel.

No injuries were reported in Richmond, but trees that survived Isabel were toppled, homes were damaged and 40,000 customers lost power, some for the second time since Isabel struck last week, authorities said. The newly blacked-out customers added to the hundreds of thousands still waiting for repairs to outages caused by Isabel.

The damage in the Richmond area, caused by part of a storm system stretching along much of the East Coast, was likely due to a twister, the National Weather Service said.

"The damage reports we have been getting ... are very conducive to a tornado," meteorologist Paul Houle said.

2. Yep it passed right over our apartmetn 5:50 AM this morning
The rain woke me up (no easy feat) and it as black as a doll's eyes outside.

My wife said they showed the path on one of the newscasts and it came right over our place. We dodged yet another bullet.

6. Well there is a huge tree splitting apart right in front of our bedroom

and that started (or at leasst my neighbor noticed it) before Isabel. About 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon he yelled across the street about it.

You can se through the tree (about 4 foot diameter at the base) and the squirrels are building nests in it. We've called the management company twice and the owners once, so far nothing.

14. No, he is closer to the ocean.
He is down in the tidewater area of Virginia (Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Hampton area). I think they were hit even harder than Richmond.
