Mayor's race splits Aurora's black community (black Republican for mayor)

"AURORA — Under normal circumstances, the emergence of a young African American as a serious candidate for a prominent political office would be cause for jubilation within the local black community. But attorney Richard Irvin is not the typical black politician.

Thanks largely to what some say is a conspicuous Republican "R" often found next to his name, Irvin's candidacy has sparked deep divisions among Aurora's African American electorate.

While many blacks here have been energized by the prospect of electing the city's first black mayor, others are approaching Irvin with great trepidation and skepticism.

"Richard Irvin is not Harold Washington, and he's not Barack Obama," said Juan Thomas, a Democratic candidate for Aurora Township clerk who once was named one of 30 of the nation's most promising young black leaders by Ebony magazine."

3. EVERY brothuh is NOT yo' brothuh...
Token negro effect. Conservatives must really think black folks are stupid (just as they were when they put up Alan KKKeyes to run against Barack Obama).

4. We should fake up some posters with Allan Keyes endorsing him...
And paper the town with them.

That should get the message across.
