U.S. Abortion Policy Closes African Clinics

(Reuters) - President Bush's anti-abortion policy has forced family planning clinics in poor countries to close, leaving some communities without any healthcare, according to a report issued Wednesday. Even faith-based clinics that promote abstinence -- in line with White House policy -- have had to close, according to organizers. Under the policy, known as the Mexico City rule by supporters and the Global Gag rule by opponents, foreign family planning agencies cannot receive U.S. funds if they provide abortion services or lobby to make or keep abortion legal in their own country.

2. Why not have two clinics?
One that eliminates the unborn and one that helps prevent the unborn?

3. Same reason I don't have two houses
It costs too much money. These clinics have to scrounge for every dime they have--they're not the Hilton. Such tight budgets don't allow for two facilities, two staffs, two supply lines, etc. I, personally, don't want to donate double my money to satisfy one of shrub's vacuous political promises to the vacuous right.

P.S. Isn't it time to stop using that creepy "unborn" line. It is so reminiscent of the "undead" of B-grade filmdom, kind of a fantasy term. You could bring your whole statement into reality this way: One that eliminates fetuses and one that helps prevent fetuses.
