SANTA FE — Just above the statewide election results on the secretary of state’s Web site are the words “subject to change” in parentheses.

Results of the vote on Amendment 2 in Tuesday’s election have changed so frequently that it is still too close to call a winner. A vote reversal in Sandoval County and a math error in Doña Ana County have further complicated what will eventually be a razor-slim margin either way.

Then the results from the early and absentee voting in Sandoval County put them behind. At about 4:30 a.m. they learned that those results were reversed, and they looked to be in the lead again, Sparks said.

Doña Ana County Interim Deputy County Clerk Mari Langford explained that 777 votes from seven machines were not initially included in the final results. She blamed the mistake on a math error.

"math error" my ass... and if you think this isn't happening around the country you'd better think long and hard..

on edit put NM in title line - and gdamn it - just realized this is a story from yesterday..mods please move to GD..aargh - gotta stop looking at the "index" date..
