BBV: MD to purchase voting machines from company that supplies GA
The Associated Press - ANNAPOLIS, Md.

Maryland will go ahead with plans to buy $55.6 million worth of electronic voting machines, relying on a consultants report that state officials say shows numerous potential security problems can be fixed before the presidential primary next March.

We remain very confident in this voting system, James Chip DiPaula, state budget secretary said Wednesday.

Kathy Rogers, director of election administration in the Georgia Secretary of States office, said at the time she had the utmost confidence in the Diebold machines, which were used for the state election last year.

Does anyone in GA know if this is a daily newspaper, or a weekly? Is the circulation large or not either?

1. Not a newspaper....
A website representing three radio stations.

The Atlanta Journal/Constitution is the only major paper here in Georgia. It's also the worst in the nation.

2. Hey, will they be able to do it
while programming the ATMs to be able to handle Chinese currency, since they are selling 850K units to China (I get it! It's to replace the spy plane that Bush had to apologise for!!!)

4. Legal issues after the elections
What a can of legal worms these people will be held for ,after the elections. I would not want my name on a court document at a trial questioning why Knowingly unsecure software was authorized. With all the documented problems of this software, the lawyers are salivating.
So many legal questions will be raised after the fact , that no one will be the winner for years...

6. Not necessarily -- please see my post in the other thread
where you expressed that sentiment. I'd go look it up but I'm out of time for an appointment.

7. the Maryland AG
interested in this blatant absurdity yet? Any rational citizens there see the incredible disconnect between the numberless "certified" flaws not yet fixed and the odd confidence of the officials?

They did the obvious and opredictable. Had demons come rushing out of the machine they would have spinned it as good news. This is Big Lie boldface if ever you needed a classic example. At least SAIC knew it couldn't fake the report since the files were already out there.

What cosmic bluff. They are relying on pure power and the ignorance of the voters. They can't imagine(have to risk anyway) that anyone will raise big trouble for them on this issue no matter how bad it is on face.

Yet predictable. As is so far the fact these monsters will be used against the Democrats unless something does derail this implementation.
