Confident Kennedy warns rivals - Lib Party in Britain |
|
snip> Charles Kennedy has warned his Labour and Tory rivals: "We're coming after you both."
The Liberal Democrat leader used his keynote speech at his party's conference to launch a powerful attack on Tony Blair and Iain Duncan Smith. link: < http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/3136534.stm[br /> The Liberal Party has a lot of momentum going, I hope they keep it up.

They propose increasing the top income tax rate from 40% to 50%, for those earning more than £100,000; more spending on hospitals; abolition of university tuition fees; and other such policies. They do have some policies, or tendencies that some supporters have, that they might share with libertarians - decriminalisation of marijuana, abolition of the monarchy (definitely not a policy, that, but it was discussed, and then voted down, at their conference).

7. I still couldn't vote for them but... |

I hope they overtake the Tories as main opposition.
Thinking about it, I can't vote for labour with Blair at the helm anymore.
Unless something drastic happens, I think that there will be a record low turnout at the next gerneral election. People are so disenchanted with politicians of all stripes at the moment.
