Explosion Heard Near British School in Qatar

DOHA, Qatar (AP) - An explosion was heard Saturday night near a British school just outside the capital in Qatar, witnesses said.

Police sealed off Farek Kelab, a residential area three miles north of Doha, where the British school is located, witnesses said.

The Interior Ministry refused to comment on the explosion, which took place at about 9:15 p.m. The school is closed on Saturday.
