Sacramento Kings owners give $100,000 to beat California recall
The owners of the Sacramento Kings donated $100,000 to Gov. Gray Davis' anti-recall committee this week, campaign finance records show.

Campaign records show the Kings Arco Arena Limited Partnership made the donation; that is the same group that donated $100,000 to the governor in 2001.

4. Another reason to be a Kings fan!
There was an Oprah show, before the Arnie and Maria lovefest, showing the owners taking on the behind the scenes jobs. It sold me. These men seemed to care about and respect their workers. Besides I lived in Sacto and I am a huge Kings supporter.

13. Mine too!
I'll never support the Nuggets while they are owned by Wal-Mart.

That's disgrace.

The Avs, on the other hand, I'll support because I love hockey.

Rapids are doing well too, and they were just bought by Wal-Mart.

Good to see big-time sports isn't 100% dominated by right-wing pukes like Red McCombs (Vikings: media bias; owns stake in Cheap Channel), Jerry Colangelo (D'backs: anti-choice) or Wayne Huizenga (Dolphins: prudery; singlehandedly wrecked new NC-17 rating).

Then again, another fairly progressive owner is the Orioles' Peter Angelos; trouble is, he's a terrible owner from a baseball point of view.

Edit: Cripes! How could I have left off Alex Spanos (Chargers: Repuke Pioneer member)?!
