1. so who's taking bets on the Justice Department shelving this one...
given AshKKKroft's penchant for hiding his nose in his master's behind.

7. Wilson really trusts that they won't shelve it
He seemed certain that the professionals at Justice will do their job. He implied a month ago that he had offered to assist them in any way he could.

12. There have to be some old pros at Justice who have had enough of
AshKKKroft and his venditas just like some CIA lifers who have had enough of Cheney's bullying.

If Justice does not take this one up seriously, it is up to all of us to howl for special prosecutor and make our congress critters' lives living hell until one is appointed!

The maladministration is making life hell for anyone who truly believes in serving this nation. The pros have got to be getting fed up in every department.

Nothing will come of this, the WH will claim
"national security interests" or some such blather. If I were any of that agents' contacts on the ground in or outside of this country, and I were still alive, I would run. I would hide.

Nothing to see here people, just keep moving along,go home now, keep moving......

On edit: just woke up, not making sense.

2. Good!
- snip -

WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 — The CIA has asked the Justice Department to investigate allegations that the White House broke federal laws by revealing the identity of one of its undercover employees in retaliation against the woman’s husband, a former ambassador who publicly criticized President Bush’s since-discredited claim that Iraq had sought weapons-grade uranium from Africa, NBC News has learned.

3. I predicted this would have legs when it was first reported
This may get whitewashed by Justice but that won't be the end of it. This IS WATERGATE moreso than anything this admin has done.

It will be interesting to see if any of the Sunday morning bloviators bring this up.

4. Hopefully the CIA squeezes Novak ...
... for the names of the two senior administration officials!

The next week, columnist Robert Novak published an article in which he revealed that Wilson’s wife, Valerie Plame, was a covert CIA operative specializing in weapons of mass destruction. “Two senior administration officials told me Wilson’s wife suggested sending him to Niger to investigate,” Novak wrote.
The White House has denied being Novak’s source, whom he has refused to identify. But Wilson has said other reporters have told him White House officials leaked Plame’s identity.

10. Rove will be "frog marched" out of the WH in handcuffs,
...just like Wilson envisioned. The CIA would NEVER send this to Justice if they didn't already have the goods. It's unthinkable! :bounce:

13. Read what David Corn said in the "Nation" would happen if investigation
Edited on Fri Sep-26-03 10:19 PM by KoKo01
is leaked about this....Read the whole article, if you have time because he LAYS OUT the WHOLE proceedure for what could happen with this investigation.......and in this snip he says......in the Fall when Congress comes back look to see what happens.........looks like he was on target......and looks like this could go somewhere!

Here's link to the full article:http://www.thenation.com/capitalgames/index.mhtml?bid=3&pid=888

The leak about Wilson's wife was an ugly act. Wilson is convinced it was arranged by
the White House to intimidate others who might consider disclosing information
troubling for the administration. If Bush officials did purposefully destroy the cover
of a government employee combating WMD proliferation in order to punish Wilson,
certainly an accounting is deserved and punishment warranted. But is Tenet in any
position to sic the FBI on the White House, upon which he depends for his budget
and his own job? Can FBI officials who answer to Ashcroft be sure their careers will
not be impaired should they vigorously investigate Bush officials? Perils abound for
the spooks and law enforcement officers who chase this case. After all, the suspects
are people who went after a man's family.

The public may not learn--officially--whether the CIA requests an investigation. The
CIA has good reason to keep its decision under wraps. If the CIA or the Justice
Department were to announce that the Agency had asked for an investigation, it
would be public confirmation that Wilson's wife was (and may still be) a CIA officer.
Members of Congress and officials at the CIA and the FBI, though, will be in a
position to know if an inquiry goes forward. And news of an investigation--or the
lack thereof--will likely slip out. In the meantime, the few Senate and House
members who have expressed outrage over the Wilson leak ought to start
considering the next step. The only way to assure that there is an honest
investigation devoid of bureaucratic intrigues could well be to turn to a special
counsel and free Tenet and Ashcroft from deciding whether the Bush White House
ought to be probed for a dirty deed that might have threatened national security.

24. This is VERY interesting, and falls in line with some other things...
...that we are beginning to see for the first time since the 2000 Coup. In brief, they are:

1) Leaks from within the military regarding the true conditions in Iraq and Afghanistan;

2) Leaks from within the intelligence community refuting the many false claims made by the Bushies;

3) And, to top it all off, the Mainstream Media is reporting all of the above along with well-researched stories of their own concerning the cuts in military benefits, the still-failing economy, and other items too numerous to mention.
