Attack on Baghdad hotel housing US officials-army

The U.S. military said there had been an attack near a Baghdad hotel housing senior military and civilian staff of Iraq's U.S.-led administration early on Saturday.

''We can confirm there was an attack near or on the Rasheed Hotel at approximately 6.30 (0230 GMT) this morning,'' a U.S. military spokesman said.

An official near the hotel said rocket-propelled grenades were fired in the direction of the hotel, but there was no information on any casualties.

The attack on one of the most fortified compounds in the city was the latest in a series of attacks on Western targets in the Iraqi capital this week. ---

1. But wait
Bruce Willis said things were going swimmingly, Wolfowitz said the same thing. The senators who were just there said that we should stop saying this kind of thing in the news because it brings down troop morale. Actually this kind of thing brings down troop morale, not the reporting of it.

2. What's Bruce Willis got to do with it?

5. Bruce said that from his experience...
the Iraqi people seemed to be welcoming the US troops. Later he admitted that he hadn't met many Iraqis, since he'd flown over Baghdad in a helicopter.

4. the Iraqi people, being on the whole - rather darker-skinned than "us"...
seem to have "growing pains" adjusting to such heady, pinkish-white concepts like FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY.

These poor, backwards people! Don't they know that freedom is the gift that keeps on giving?

14. 2000 American casualties, one picture
Except for the daring rescue of the damsel in distress, I haven't seen any other pictures of American casualties. Except for the initial invasion I haven't seen any pictures of Iraqi dead and wounded either.

It's a war of words then, not bullets, bombs, dead and maimed.

7. Saw a few minutes of Joe Scarborough tonight, sorry to admit
and he said the same thing the senators said you mentioned. He also said he and Rush Limbaugh believe that journalists in Iraq are afraid to tell about the "good things" in Iraq, because the nasty terrorists might get them!

Looks like this is the next Republican group posture: attacking all information which doesn't exalt the mighty Bush and his crew.

10. That is the new Drivel and Spin
Its the media's fault that soldiers are dying every day...Bullshit..
Now that the gloves are off, and we are seeing the TIP of the Iceberg of the Clusterfuck in Iraq, and Bush is officially a lying sack of shite, the media finally covers SOME of it, (NOT enough), and the talking heads start whining because their frat boy isnt being treated like King George..
Tough shit! Scarborough the murderer and Limpyballs are as important now as farts in the wind...only the lowest common denominater of any human being would take anything they say seriously.

They've been using Hamarabi's code for thousands of years, and they don't want to change.

12. Soldiers are coming back
And they're telling the tale.

A guy belonging to my husband's Moose lodge just came back and he's telling everyone that it's war. According to him every time an American is killed, the soldiers make sure they kill at least a couple hundred of "them" in retaliation. And he claims it's part of the job to keep the press from seeing anything.
