Russia Won't End Accord With Iran to Build Nuclear Reactor

WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia said today that he told President Bush at a Camp David meeting that he would send "a clear but respectful signal to Iran" that it must comply with international inspections of its suspected nuclear weapons program, but Mr. Putin insisted that Russia would go forward with its plans to help Iran to build a nuclear reactor.

Mr. Putin's decision not to back down on Russia's commercial nuclear contract with Iran was mentioned almost as an aside at a news conference at the presidential retreat in the Catoctin Mountains in Maryland, where the two leaders said they had a warm and detailed discussion of Iraq, the Middle East, and the twin nuclear threats of Iran and North Korea.

Both men described themselves as close partners during the news conference, held in the sunshine on the Maryland mountaintop, but their statements acknowledged significant continuing differences.

The Iranians are building a nuclear reactor at Bushehr, under contract with a Russian company. For two years it has been a sore point between Mr. Putin and Mr. Bush, with the American president pressing at every meeting for a cancellation of the contract.

2. I more wonder why CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the whore media...
...keeps reporting this as some kind of great breakthrough meeting. Russian continued nuclear cooperation for Irans nuclear program, and no help for the Chimp in Iraq from Putin. Yea. Sounds like a great success alright.

4. Insult and he laughed about it
That tells me he is an idiot with no interpersonal
communication skills.

He doesn't care if this causes an international
problem or not.

He has the power according to him.
