Clark: Americans 'embarrassed' by Bush
Candidate attacks president's economic plan, Iraq strategy

(CNN) -- Democratic presidential candidate Gen. Wesley Clark has attacked President Bush's economic plan as a failure, and said the war in Iraq was "unnecessary" and lacks a way to succeed or end.

Speaking after an event in Washington at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's annual conference, Clark, 58, told reporters that the American people are "really embarrassed" by the administration's leadership.

12. Remember Bonehead Barr????
The wingnut impeachment manager from Georgia. His GOP rival in last years primary waxed the incumbent with a "he is an embarrassment" campaign. It worked and Clark is just giving the GOP back some of their own.

For all you Clark haters may I ask: Where is the right wing assault on this remark? Currently I would think the GOP stunned and at a loss for words. Sure they can run some more flip flop scams or hothead lies but to attack this remark effectively they must use the standard method: they must show that Clark is the embarrassment. That cannot be done without suffering a torrent of Clark resumes flooding every media outlet in the nation.

Fuck the GOP and Clark do us a favor next time. Don’t be so nice.

13. An Excellent Line By The General
It has the great advantage of being true; no one need be embarrassed to repeat it. Even many on the right are embarrassed by some aspect or other of the jackanapes' performance in the office he stole.

14. good tactic. i don't personally feel embarrassed anymore, but maybe i
could try. i just feel a kind of numbness, with lots of hope after these weeks of dean and now clark with their salvos at the administration, perfectly timed with the approaching demise of rove and the increasing obviousness of bushco's blunders, hipocrisy and nonsensical cock-suredness.

15. Clark and the CBC
My understanding is that he was extremely well-received, and that more endorsements are in the offing. This will be huge, as the CBC represents some of this party's most loyal and liberal warriors.

I think these endorsements, coupled with my expectation that Clinton will speak up in favor of Clark's Democratic credentials, will completely demolish the "Clark is secretly a Republican" nonsense.

19. We are all under the same tent here...
And like Mom used to say, If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

IMHO, it's fine for folks to post news on their candidate of choice, but there's been way too much infighting on this board.

21. Gee, I think Mom's old saying
has been the motto of many democratic leaders for the past three years! Thank goodness that Dean, Clark, Kucinich, Sharpton, etc. haven't adhered to it!

conflict is expected during any primary-it's good practice for the war ahead.personally I stay off the flame bait threads in GD, but I think it's a good thing that people are willing to fight for the candidate they believe in, or try to point out "flaws" that the GOP is going to bring up at some point anyway!

the entire world needs to know that Americans are embarrassed not only by the disgrace in the oval office but by his entire crew, that they are wrecking not only the world but the US itself.

23. He is RIGHT
I've been horribly embarrassed by this clown, as recently as YESTERDAY. Did anyone see his performance when he was taking questons with Putin? Laughing, making faces, leaning on the podium. I just CRINGED.

26. Did You See Bush Hugging Putin?
When Bush greeted Putin stepping off the plane, Bush hugged him - when Putin was clearly ready to shake Bush's hand. For the photo-ops Bush kept walking with his arm around Putin. Bush kept talking about how they are great friends.

Bizarre. I think Bush was trying to pretend everything was very nice and cheery between them. The headline in the Globe this morning demonstrated that relations are anything but cheery.

Bush, Putin disagree on Iraq, Iran
US bids rejected in 'frank talks'
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2003/09/28/bush_putin_disagree_on_iraq_iran/

"President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia rebuffed President Bush's requests for help yesterday in two trouble spots, by declining to cut off nuclear assistance to Iran or to provide immediate aid in Iraq."

but his ties to PNAC and the current heads of the Defense Department are worrying. He's better than Lieberman, but he's #9 on my list.
