Ethics panel to scrutinize Md. lobbyist (BBV/SAIC)
"Top Ehrlich aides said they did not learn until this week that Gilbert J. Genn, who was registered to lobby on behalf of Diebold Election Systems, the manufacturer of the electronic voting machines, was also authorized to represent Science Applications International Corp., hired by Ehrlich to determine whether the voting system is se cure enough to use."

"We did not know about his representation of both clients," said Henry Fawell, a spokesman for the governor. "We wish that that had been disclosed."

The ethics commission, Fawell said, could help resolve questions about whether Genn's dual roles constitute a conflict of interest that may have compromised the independence of the consultant's review, portions of which were released for the first time this week.

1. Gee, where's the surprise? I thought the new trend in all legal affairs
was to let the accused investigate himself. Works for the Bush administration.

3. With the emphasis on "portions"
From memory, weren't about 70 of the 90 or so pages of that report redacted?

4. Erlich setting the stage for a production of
"Don't look there.....look here" to cover his sorry butt over the Liebold white wash. Blame it on the lobbyist and Clinton's penis and then we can all go ahead and charge the taxpayers 55 million to have their vote stolen. Hell, this is a win-win. Now you folks in Maryland don't even have to bother going to the polls. Liebold and the Gov will do your voting for you. Isn't democracy great ??
