We got it wrong on Iraq WMD, intelligence chiefs finally admit/UK
Intelligence chiefs have admitted for the first time that claims they made about Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction were wrong and have not been substantiated. The admission is revealed in the annual report of the parliamentary intelligence and security committee which also sharply criticises the lack of communication between ministers and the Secret Intelligence Service, MI6.

It discloses that late last year the joint intelligence committee (JIC) reviewed key judgments on Iraq's WMD capability and programmes behind the government's now discredited dossier published in September 2002. · The JIC claimed in 2002: "Iraq is pursuing a nuclear weapons programme." It now admits this "was wrong, in that Iraq was not pursuing a nuclear weapons programme". It says the claim was "correct on Iraq's nuclear ambitions".

1. Why don't they just admit Blair was W's lap dog
and the two of them pursued their role as corporate globalists.

Our community lost a 24 year old boy in Baghdad yesterday.

3. Let's look at what the ACTUAL INTELL-MI5 and MI6- got CORRECT;
NO TIES between Iraq and 911.

NO TIES between Iraq and al-Qaeda.

NO TIES between Iraq & any other international terrorist groups.

NO NUCLEAR CAPABILITY.

NO CENTRIFUGE TUBES; conventional rocket use only

NO KILLER DRONES.

NO THREAT.

Gee...all of the above is THE OPPOSITE of what bush, Cartel, and bLiar trumpeted again & again & again.

4. So the claims were "sexed up". Now David Kelley is dead, the BBC is
gagged and over 100,000 Iraquis are dead and millions of people are sick, traumstizes, living in crushing poverty, squalor and humiliation. Nice job George and Tony. I wonder if the people of Iraq get an apology or just more devistation.

7. Intelligence officials say Iraq claims were untrue
The Independent
By Kim Sengupta
08 April 2005

The intelligence officials who produced Tony Blair's Iraq weapons dossier - the justification for war - have admitted that some of the main claims made in it were untrue.

The Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC), which produced the dossier under its chairman John Scarlett, was forced to carry out a review after the failure to find Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction after the occupation,.

The committee admits that a whole array of allegations - from Iraq's supposed chemical, biological and nuclear capabilites to its ballistic missiles -- were either "wrong" or "unsubstantiated".

The JIC review, carried out in December 2004, was revealed by the parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee, which oversees the work of the intelligence agencies, in its annual report. The MPs said: "We are concerned at the amount of intelligence on Iraqi WMD that has now had to be withdrawn ..."

9. Oh, please....Bush and Blair knew that there was no justifiable reason for
the war, at least not ethical realm that most non-psychopathic people live in, which does not seem to include Bush and Blair.

Why can't these guys just admit that they went to war because they wanted Iraq's oil, and so that their business buddies could make humongous coin by war profiteering?
