1. Mixed feelings about Walesa
The Solidarity movement was terrific and courageous, but he has done some very questionable, right wind things, including being quite anti semitic.

2. He is a hero but a failed politician
He brought down the Warsaw Pact and the Soviet Union.

The oppressed everywhere should view him as an example of how workers can overthrow tyrants who abuse them. US workers should take note.
