Stem-cell vote has Focus on Family 'down but not out' (fotf whining)

Focus on the Family lost another national political fight Tuesday and took another hard shot from a U.S. senator, but Colorado's best-known evangelical Christian lobbyists kept faith they'll win in the long run.

"We're down but not out," said Tom Minnery, vice president of public policy for the Colorado Springs group, after lawmakers bucked the group's high-profile lobbying efforts for the second straight day.

I respect Mr. Dobson," Salazar said on MSNBC television, "but I also believe that this country should not be run by the radical right. We're not a theocracy in this country, and I think Republicans and Democrats who came together in this agreement very much recognize that.

"I don't want us to become another Saudi Arabia or another Iraq, and I think that people who are part of that radical right would have our country go in that direction."
