Elder Bush would like son Jeb to run for president
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/bush_father_dc

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -
George Bush, the president's father, would like to see another Bush in the White House someday, saying on Tuesday that he would want his son Jeb to run for president when the timing is right.

In an interview on CNN's "Larry King Live," former
President Bush said he would want Jeb to run for president "someday," but now was not the time.

"The timing's wrong. The main thing is, he doesn't want to do it. Nobody believes that," Bush said.

Barbara Bush said she believed Senator and former first lady
Hillary Rodham Clinton would be the Democratic nominee in the 2008 presidential race. "I'm not going to vote for her, but I'm betting on her," she said.

5. Dr Frist - was quoted by Al Franken
as saying that (based on a web cam. long distance, visual exam), Jeb is a very sick man. Dr. Frist (again based on a web cam remote visual exam - as Dr Frist did with Terri Schiavo) said that Jeb has early stage Parkinsons' Disease, Gout, and possibly early stage congestive heart failure. Dr Frist also said that Jeb probably has hemorrhoids.

But, there's good news. Dr Frist said that with bed rest until after the 2008 election, Jeb will most likely make a complete recovery, according to Al Franken.

Dr. Frist is a fine doctor to be so worried about Job's health.

Dr. Frist also said that Dick Cheny's heart is too bad to run for President.

Dr. Frist is a fine doctor to be so worried about the VP's health.

16. My dream scenario:
Jeb vs. democrat to be named later. Jeb is trailing badly in the polls and miraculously comes up with the win on election day. No one believes this. People don't suspect their vote got hijacked - THEY KNOW IT GOT HIJACKED. People riot in the streets and the media savages Jeb until he is forced to admit he cheated with voting machines and steps down. Never happen but I can dream, can't I?

28. To be desired, indeed...
I have had that same hope, but with ANY Rethug candidate (Jeb or not). Hopefully, by the time 2008 rolls around, the American public will surely be fed up with any and all Rethugs.

I have thought that this may be the ONLY way that the truth of the voting machine fiasco will ever get uncovered.

But dream on... maybe it will happen as early as 2006, afterall. Hope never dies!

Bush senior wants to be sparred the embarassment of having to be confronted with his legacies' (sons) despicable greed and destructiveness of most of what we have traditionally held dear in this country, and which we had hoped to pass on to future generations.

Jeb Bush can likely do more harm than his older inarticulate and vacous brother.

Jeb is taller, better looking, more articulate and more likely to hide embarassment successfully.

What IS it about this country that can accept these guys as viable leaders?

The Bushies want to be mentioned in the same breath as America's other political dynasty (the Kennedys) & to outdo the Clintons by having two children run for President. This has nothing to do with public service, only their own selfishness & overblown egos.

Edited on Wed Jun-01-05 05:18 AM by wakeme2008
They do not live together. And Jebbie is doing other women. IMHO that is the real reason he does not want to talk of 2008, want to dump wife one and get a new one. But then again she may know something bad on Jebbie...

Be very very worried if Jebbie's wife oh say dies in a small airplane crash.

41. well, once we allow them to steal elections so easily...
What do we expect? Now that they have the Dribs & Drabs method of stealing elections tried & so widely accepted-- "those 1,000 votes wouldn't change the result.." and "No one wants to be seen as a sore loser..." and again "those 17,000 votes wouldn't change the result..." and somehow those damn exit polls we judge others by just don't apply over here in the USA... WELL, with all of that accomplished, and Jeb can speak sentences and even paragraphs-- well gee... Why not?
>>>"And the next time exit poll challenges arise in 2006, let's just stay true to Manager Rove, feed the disheatened Democrats some false data about fraud and let them trumpet it so we can discredit it publicly-- as we did with poor old Danny Boy and then Newsweek..."

And frankly, because of this family ties stuff, I really don't want any Kennedys or Clintons in the WH either. New blood in the top spot is good for democracy. Putting five or ten families on rotation for the presidency, no matter what their political party, just entrenches this modern aristocracy.

48. Jeb Bush Says He's Not Seeking White House

The Associated Press
Wednesday, June 1, 2005; 11:56 AM

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Gov. Jeb Bush on Wednesday brushed off his father's public suggestions that he should run for president _ and that he secretly wants to do so.

Gov. Bush, who has repeatedly and sometimes testily said he won't run for president in 2008, was asked Wednesday morning about the remarks made by his father, former President George H.W. Bush, on Tuesday's edition of CNN's Larry King Live.

"Oh, Lord," Gov. Bush said as he laughed. Shaking his head, he said: "I love my dad."

------------------

"Someday I would, yes," said the elder Bush, who turns 81 this month. He said Jeb Bush would be "awfully good" as president.

"This guy's smart, big and strong," he said of his son. "Makes the decisions. And you know, not without controversy, but he's led that state."
