U.S.(Rummy) warns Iraq's neighbors not to treat Zarqawi
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20050601/ts_nm/iraq_usa_zarqawi_dc_3;_ylt=AoW4lsGTMKXErFy2yK0uGRpX6GMA;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld on Wednesday warned Iraq's neighbors not to provide medical care to al Qaeda's leader in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who the Pentagon believes has been wounded.

"The current assumption is that he's in Iraq. Were a neighboring country to take him in and provide medical assistance or haven for him, they, obviously, would be associating themselves with a major linkage in the al Qaeda network and a person who has a great deal of blood on his hands," Rumsfeld told a Pentagon briefing.

Rumsfeld was not specific about the possible consequences for a country that provided medical care for the Jordanian-born extremist, who has been accused of masterminding a spree of suicide bombings, ambushes and assassinations in Iraq.

Iraq borders Syria, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

Air Force Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the U.S. military's Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that "our assessment is that he has been wounded" but said he did not know how severely.

3. Don't treat him, make him pay. Oh, medical care and threats.
They can't find a one legged man with a twisted ankle, a shot up lung/flesh wound and shrapnel hanging off his chest, so put out the warning to not give him medical care? And if a neighboring country were to provide medical assistance or haven, they would be associating themselves with al Qaeda so the USA won't need Israel to instigate the Iran war? Ah. Not that I would ever be cynical of Mr.bush and his evil minions.

5. What a humanitarian rummy is.
It used to be an injured person was treated regardless of what side of the battle they were on.
Now we threaten people not to treat our enemies?

6. My God, the implications of Rummy's threats boggles the mind: can
anyone in the Mideast do anything without Rummy's approval or am I just hyperventilating?

9. Such a charade.
I love these comic-book statements: "...warned Iraq's neighbors not to provide medical care...."

Now, notice when asked about possible consequences, RumsFailed "...was not specific about the possible conseqences..."

Why, you ask? Simple. The Simpleton is just making Tabloid Headlines, by conjuring up the Boogeyman, or Culprit of the Month.

There was an article on CounterPunch a while back, which went into detail about how much the US uses Bad Guys, or Ogre of the Month to whip up public sentiment, or policy goals. It's just using Cartoon character antics, to fit their plans.

10. Doctors don't have any choice in the matter
They would have to treat him, according to their oath. The country involved could always extradite him to Iraq to face criminal charges at that point.

15. exactly
In no way does Rumsfeld have the power to 'veto' the hypocratic oath. Although, he may think that he does have such power.

What a moran.

"Asshole," as he was referred to by the honorable Lt. Col Hackworth, is so culturally out of the loop as to boggle the mind. Apparently Rumsfeld has not bothered to count (nor has Franks) the number of Iraqis who have willing sacrificed their lives to the suicide bomb, for The Cause. There wouldn't be a Cause if it weren't for Bush's Yale/Harvard bubblegum fettish during lectures.

Save your threats for your limp-dicked Army/Marine generals, Rumsfeld. They don't mean a fucking thing to the Iraqis. You've cashed your chits in that region.

13. Syria, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Turkey & SA should warn other countries
not to provide medical care for Bush or his cronies when they travel abroad. Heh...see what old Rummy would say to that.

16. there is a boca raton doctor in jail, without bond, as far as yesterday no
Edited on Wed Jun-01-05 01:52 PM by flordehinojos
defense attorney, accused, together with a new york, musician, of being terrorists because of planning to help wounded insurgents ...

the doctor will be held without bond and without a hearing until june 6th when he will have his next hearing. the same day that bush comes to broward county for a meeting of the ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES to propose a program to MONITOR DEMOCRACY IN THE REGION ......!!!!!!!!

Now, you all pardon me...but it is highly suspicious that this man is being held a prisoner for plotting or planning to aid wounded insurgents (by sending them medical supplies) just before bush comes here to propose to the OAS a program TO MONITOR DEMOCRACY IN THE REGION ... it stinks to the high heaven... sort of like cleaning out his balls with brillo pads and sticking them out there for all those foreign ministers to see and be impressed by his chutzpah!

They don't have any proof against the doctor ... or the musician, they have a suspicion, they don't even know if the doctor is the same man they suspect of ... but one thing you can be sure of is,

here or anywhere else bush, his brillo pads balls and his pentagon chutzpahfied appointment don't want no one, here or anywhere, to treat wounded insurgents at all.

17. No warning given
To Saudi Arabia(Osama's home) or any country that would give aid to the leader of al Quiada who has had to have medical care constantly for all these years. The cost of care to one inmate in OR prison for dialysis is $12 thousand a month. There must be a money trail somewhere for medical equipment and medicines for Osama and Zarqawi!

18. Excellent point. Rumsfeld didn't want medical treatment
withheld from Osama Bin Laden. Interesting.

Aside from which, a doctor is (or should be) ethically obligated to treat anyone regardless of politics or crimes (and Zarqawi has not yet been convicted). The doctor would be free to call the police after treatment, but to withhold or refuse treatment would be wrong.

19. The $hit that comes out about this al-Zarqawi character is comical.
The Red Cross would treat him if he existed.

--Iraq borders Syria, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.--

I got news for this aHole Rummy the Dummy. Al-Zarqawi is in all six of those countries.

What a joke, these POS in the wh have more blood on their hands than anyone else on the planet.

--a person who has a great deal of blood on his hands," Rumsfeld told a Pentagon briefing.--
