Jeb Bush brushes off White House talk
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Gov. Jeb Bush on Wednesday brushed off his father’s public suggestions that he should run for president.

Gov. Bush, who has repeatedly and sometimes testily said he won’t run for the White House in 2008, was asked Wednesday morning about the remarks made by his father, former President George H.W. Bush, on Tuesday’s edition of CNN’s Larry King Live.

“Oh, Lord,” Gov. Bush said as he laughed. Shaking his head, he said: “I love my dad.”

<snip>
The elder Bush said “the timing’s wrong” because Jeb Bush has said “he doesn’t want to do it.” But the former president then added: “Nobody believes that.

4. This comes to mind:

CASCA
I can as well be hanged as tell the manner of it:
it was mere foolery; I did not mark it. I saw Mark
Antony offer him a crown;--yet 'twas not a crown
neither, 'twas one of these coronets;--and, as I told
you, he put it by once: but, for all that, to my
thinking, he would fain have had it. Then he
offered it to him again; then he put it by again:
but, to my thinking, he was very loath to lay his
fingers off it. And then he offered it the third
time; he put it the third time by: and still as he
refused it, the rabblement hooted and clapped their
chapped hands and threw up their sweaty night-caps
and uttered such a deal of stinking breath because
Caesar refused the crown that it had almost choked
Caesar; for he swounded and fell down at it: and
for mine own part, I durst not laugh, for fear of
opening my lips and receiving the bad air.

Substitute "Jeb Bush" for Caesar (I know, it isn't fair to Caesar).

5. Maybe he'd rather go make some money than deal with the mess
that his brother sort of oversees. Jeb is supposed to be the smart one, remember? * also gets many, many more death threats than Clinton. Perhaps Jeb has a survival instinct.

12. Careful, folks...
There was a time when a business-failing, military-deserting, inarticulate simp like George W. Bush would never had made it to the White House...

By the way, speaking of Larry King, when will he interview Kitty Kelly? Or does he just do Bush Family-approved celebrities?

13. jebby is an A number 1 Azz......look what he has vetoed
**********Democrats suggested Republicans should convene a special session and use their power to override Bush's vetoes by a two-thirds vote.*****************

Sen. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey, saw several projects vetoed, including a summer camp for disadvantaged children, a special needs hurricane shelter and a health clinic. Fasano said he believed the action was payback for his decision to eliminate state funding for one of Bush's priorities, making Miami a hemispheric headquarters of the Free Trade Area of the Americas.

"I guess this is what happens when you don't fund the FTAA," said Fasano, who accused FTAA officials of wasteful spending.

also look what he vetoed.....

Rep. Charlie Justice, D-St. Petersburg, faulted Bush for vetoing $179,400 to replace windows and a generator in a building used by the Pinellas Association for Retarded Children as a hurricane shelter.

largest single veto involving state tax dollars was $5-million to expand a 3-year-old program that offers legal services to the poor. The Civil Legal Assistance program, run by the Florida Bar Foundation, received $1-million this year to operate in about a third of the state's 20 judicial circuits.

this says it all...............

the first time in his seven years in office, Bush acknowledged that political influence did play a role in his veto decisions. He said he showed "deference" to the Legislature's presiding officers and chairmen of the budget committees

A thousand times over.

I pray for the day when the name "Bush" is just as reviled as the name "Hitler" or "Plymouth Volare"...when people actually experience reverse paristalsis at the very mention of the name.

He's an utter ass, but much more "polished." So presidential, to people like the Bush rabble.

Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 04:32 AM by tmorelli415
I thin they actually have begun to believe that they are some sort of God-appointed de facto royal family. Seriously, have you ever listened to Babs? She acts like she is offering her loyal subjects with blessing and advice of the Queen Mum.

Who the Hel would name their kid Jeb anyway? I thought that was a joke name for a hillbilly.
