Protesters critical of Bush plan on Social Security

ST. LOUIS - Saying that President Bush's proposal to change Social Security doesn't add up, a few hundred protesters rallied across the street from the site of Bush's appearance at a fundraiser Thursday.

Bush was in St. Louis to appear on behalf of Sen. Jim Talent, R-Mo., who faces a re-election bid in 2006. The event at the Millennium Hotel was expected to raise more than $1 million. <snip>

"He's trying to tell us if you take money out of the system, you'll help the system," Stewart said. "That just doesn't add up." <snip>

The $2,000-a-plate fund-raiser was Talent's largest since the special 2002 race, when he defeated Democrat Jean Carnahan. <snip>

in New Orleans in January, on a Thursday. Fox News reported 200, 250 tops.
