Dean attacks the GOP on values
Howard Dean criticized the Republican Party on Friday as disingenuous for preaching moral values while cutting services for the poor.

Speaking in Kansas City, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee told a crowd at the Uptown Theater that Democrats can be proud of their stands on the issues.

“We don’t have to apologize for the moral values of the Democratic Party,” the former Vermont governor said.
...
...“The other side seems to want to lecture us on moral values while they cut health care in rural areas … while they cut programs for the poor, while they cut education …

“I don’t think those moral values are consistent. I don’t think they’re biblical. And I don’t think they’re consistent with the message in the New Testament.”

He said the idea of helping the poor is mentioned 3,000 times in the Old and New Testaments.

“Let us remember that,” he said.

4. This is very true.
There is nothing christian or moral about depriving the poor, elderly, and disabled of a roof, food, and healthcare.

There is nothing christian or moral about a pre-emptive war.

There is nothing christian or moral about using torture.

There is nothing christian or moral about regular use of lies.

There is nothing christian or moral about political corruption, especially when its widespread.

There is nothing christian or moral about empowering avarice and greed.

7. By 'morals' the right-wing Christians mean to sex related issues.
Its very hipocritical but true. All other 'sins' just don't matter.

12. He said the same things in Atlanta
on Thursday evening. Dean was on fire in Atlanta! He talked about being the party of moral values (feeding the hungry, educating our children, being stewards of the environment). I've seen him many times, both in person, and on TV and I have to say that he has never been more "on his game" than he is now.

A friend saw him at the Take Back America conference in DC Thursday AM and said the same thing! He is taking the radical right on - but you know - he needs our help!

He asked the crowd in Atlanta to reach out to friends, family, neighbors even if we knew they might not agree with the entire democratic platform. We have to be able to talk about the moral corruption of the right. So, get out there!

14. Love him!
He always cuts right through the bullshit to the real heart of any matter and speaks the truth.

They have never been able to subvert his message, but can only make lame personal attacks on him in the most pathetic and obvious ways.

Go, Dean!!

:applause:

15. I love this guy
and I'm so glad he's speaking Truth to Power.

For the longest time, no one disputed or confronted the Republican on their hypocrisy. Those days are now over.

Rock on, Dr. Dean. Rock on!!!
