Cheney makes surpise (sic) stop in Portland (sneaks into town)
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Vice President Dick Cheney made an unannounced visit to Portland on Sunday.

The vice president's motorcade arrived at the Benson Hotel in downtown Portland at about 5 p.m. U.S. Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., told KATU-TV that Cheney was here to see a friend.

11. Good! At least you know he's coming.
We tried the tar and feathers last time he was here. We'd have had the pitchforks and torches ready this time, and he knows it.

28. Yes... a pox will be placed upon your city...
And it should arrive this morning to do a campaign luncheon for a repug congressman. Sorry... but at least that explains the the raining frogs and hords of locusts after the departure of Air Force II this afternoon.

19. Probably the Davis family.
She's a school superintendent. I forget what he does, but he fishes and golfs with Cheney.

I know this because the Davis' son, Will, went to high school (Interlochen Arts Academy) with my daughter.

20. No wonder. Portland is home of protesters with guts. Remember 2002?
These folks are serious about their protesting, as they showed the world during their 2002 anti-Iraq war protests.

What pure raw truth!
Portland, Or.

24. In town to see a friend
But why do I strongly suspect that I'm paying for the trip, along with all the other American taxpayers?

So nice of Crashcart to duck into town for an overnight just so he can fuck up the Monday morning commute. Asshole.

30. We ARE paying for it
Parts of downtown have blocked streets, Secret Service agents and cops everywhere...I just got back from down there.

Not to mention Air Force 2 and all the attendant costs.

To visit a "friend" my ass. :grr:

25. LIHOP MIHOP PART 2??? Putting on my tinfoil hat now!
:tinfoilhat:

because WHY is Cheney being so secretive???!!! Is the next LIHOP MIHOP in Portland???!!! Because if so, I'm just a couple of hours away and I'm feeling very anxious about the reason for the "secrecy"! After all, wouldn't they want this next attack-possibly nuclear-to be as far from D.C. and Texas as possible?
