Bush Plans Speech at OAS Meeting
President Bush to Urge Steps to Defend Democracy in Latin America at OAS Meeting

By GEORGE GEDDA Associated Press Writer
The Associated Press

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. Jun 6, 2005 — President Bush is stepping into a debate over how far Western Hemisphere governments should go in rescuing countries where political instability threatens democratic survival.

Bush planned to deliver a speech Monday to an Organization of American States foreign ministers meeting after Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told OAS delegates Sunday night the institution must remain faithful to its pro-democracy charter.

"We must act on our charter to support democracy where it is threatened," Rice said. "Wherever a free society is in retreat, a fear society is on the offensive. And the weapon of choice for every authoritarian regime is the organized cruelty of the police state."

She singled out Bolivia, Ecuador and Haiti as countries that need help in overcoming chronic instability.

2. i had posted this in another thread last night, but if you allow me, i'll
post it here again with a tweaking or two but basically, the same.
:)

"We in the OAS cannot rest, we must not rest, we cannot tire, we must not tire and we can never declare victory until freedom, prosperity, and security enrich the lives of all people," Rice said, echoing words of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. "This is the great calling of our democratic nations. And it is the legacy that we must leave to posterity." Que descarada! What a lack of originality—as a matter of fact, neither the secretary of State nor her charge, are very original people.

“we cannot rest, we cannot tire, we must not tire and we can never declare victory until freedom, prosperity, and security enrich the lives of all people.”

ESTIMADOS SEñORES MINISTROS DE LA OEA:--- CUIDADO CON LAS PALABRAS DEL LOBO VESTIDO DE OVEJA... THOSE WORDS URGING YOU TO WORK FOR FREEDOM ARE, A WAY FOR THE BUSHES TO CONTROL THE LIFE SUSTAINING OXYGEN ANYONE OF YOUR COUNTRIES BREATHES FOR ITS SURVIVAL...and i am not talking environmental issues. i am talking political ones. bush monitoring democracy in the region=if bush doesn't like what any country is doing ... then the country's leader is ESCORTED out on to a jet plane to a far away country just like ARISTIDE who found himself booted out and being flown in a jet plane out of Haiti and into Africa courtesy of the Bush thugs. A preview of what the bushes want to do to CHAVEZ and to CASTRO and to anyone of you dignitaries, foreign ministers and presidents who refuse to toe the Bush corporate line.

BE WELL, BE WELL FOREIGN MINISTERS OF FOREIGN NATIONS. RESIST, RESIST THE BUSH/RICE CHATTER...

PUT YOUR BOXING GLOVES, AND DON YOUR EAR PLUGS, WHEN RICE SAYS SHE HAS TO HAVE A DISCUSSION WITH YOU ON HOW THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES CAN FUNCTION IF IT DOES NOT HAVE A MECHANISM IN PLACE THAT CAN HELP IN TIME OF CRISIS.

BEWARE. BEWARE. BEWARE.

HELP WHO? HELP WHO?

HELP BUSH IN TIMES OF A BUSH CREATED CRISIS?

BEWARE. BEWARE. BEWARE. Don't let the thunder voice from behind the curtain intimidate you... Don't let the dominatrix flagellate you.

STARWARS? Is that the crisis? STARWARS IS A BUSH CREATED CRISIS -- STARWARS IS BUSH... THE BUSHIT AND THE THUNDER BEHIND THE CURTAIN: THEY ARE YOUR OXYGEN SNUFFERS, THEY ARE YOUR ENEMIES. BEWARE. BEWARE.

STAND UP FOR YOUR OWN RIGHTS, FOR YOUR OWN SELVES. FOR YOUR OWN COUNTRY. FOR YOUR RIGHT TO SELF DETERMINATION. for the right of your people to speak their minds, FOR YOUR RIGHT TO DISAGREE AND DISSENT FROM THE BUSH AGENDA. LOOK OUTSIDE THE WINDOW OF THE CONVENTION CENTER—SEE HOW BUSH MOCKS DEMOCRACY IN HIS OWN COUNTRY. SEE HOW PEOPLE ARE KEPT IN PENS. TOLD THEY CANNOT PROTEST WITH BANNERS, OR FLYERS, THEY ARE THREATENED WITH JACKBOOTED POLICE PRESENCE. DEMOCRACY IS A MOCKERY IN BUSH COUNTRY. DON’T LET HIM TAKE AWAY WHATEVER OUNCE OR TON OF DEMOCRACY YOUR COUNTRY ENJOYS.

BE BRAVE DEAR MINISTERS. BE BRAVE. HAVE COURAGE. JUST SAY,

NO
to the Bush agenda, to his dominatrix, to his platitude about democracy—beware of the man who says he has your best interest at heart, when it is clear and his actions have shown that the only interest he has at heart is his own, his pocket line with bloody oil and bloody profits from a war that he created through lies and deceptions.

Say No to the Bush idea of a CRISIS!

What Crisis? --Bush wants to annex your men to help him fight his war!
What crisis?--Bush wants to annex your money to pay for your men to fight his war!
What crisis? Bush wants your soil to find the oil to fight his war.

Indeed, indeed, bush is the man who swallowed the fly, who swallowed the cow, who swallowed the lie, who swallowed your life. Indeed, indeed.

4. we already did haiti...and got rid of their elected president
jean bertrand aristide, and sent him through lies and manipulations,
packing on a jet plane to some African country, and when Jamaica received him, we demanded, we forced jamaica to return him to the African nation we had flown him to originally--and threatened Jamaica with some sort of action if they wouldn't, becase we were afraid that his presence in this hemisphere, and in such close promixity to the island nation would cause a revolution within haiti form aristide supporters .

We are the rambo revolution--and Bush is the macho guy who heads it!

7. Bush democracy = oligarchy
Democracy only for the propertied classes. True, universal democracy scares the hell out of him, which is why populists like Chavez and Aristide are so threatening.
