Vice President Cheney Lauds Reichert (Seattle)
Edited on Mon Jun-06-05 07:37 PM by baby_bear
Seattle is NOT in Reichert's district, I hasten to point out.

<snip>
SEATTLE -- Vice President Dick Cheney on Monday praised Congressman Dave Reichert as a "capable and impressive" member of the U.S. House.

Cheney spoke to about 200 people at a campaign luncheon in Seattle to raise funds for Reichert. Cheney also promoted the administration's agenda, promising tax relief, Social Security reform and fighting terrorism.

Reichert is a freshman Republican being targeted by Democrats. His chief of staff, Mike Shields, says the event raised more than $100,000.

About a dozen protesters stood outside the downtown Seattle hotel before Cheney arrived. They protested the president's Social Security proposal and the Iraq war.
</snip>

500 bucks a pop for lunch. Cheney et al. now "own" Reichert.
The hotel was the Grand Hyatt, by the way.

1. Get out of my city
you fucking bastard! Now!

A dozen protesters? Well, I suppose we can multiply that by at least three but still not up to our usual snuff. OTOH, I didn't get advanced warning that he was going to defile my city with his presence so probably many others didn't as well.

2. We had a bit of a discussion on this in the Washington forum
I became convinced that ignoring the creeps was the best way to deal with them.

They aren't worth our time...

6. I need to look up the local forum more often
I have it bookmarked in my forum list. Unfortunately, I find that between LBN, the greatest page, stalking Will Pitt (kidding - but I do check daily to see what he's written) that I'm spending a couple of hours a day on this board and rarely do I make it over to my other bookmarked forums.

3. Makes me glad
I live in Tacoma. I don't have to disinfect the streets 'cuz Cheney set foot on them.

Didn't know he was in the area until I heard the traffic report on Air America...

Gag me.

5. Reichert Was the King County Sheriff, that let Gray Ridgeway,
{Green River Killer} Kill again and again, Ridgeway was a prime suspect, he was questioned by Detective Reichert, then let go, to kill again, for Decades. Reichert became Sheriff, and with DNA the case was solved. For some reason he was given credit for solving the Case. He replaced Jennifer Dunn in Congress, a total Bush Lackey.

14. He did vote against the ridiculous Schiavo legislation
One of only six, I believe, Republicans, who bucked the Republican leadership.

Give credit where credit's due...

He is tainted with the stench of Cheney now, though.
