Post-ABC Poll: Bush Ignoring Public Concerns
Post-ABC Poll: Bush Ignoring Public Concerns
Majority Says President Distracted by Issues They Care Little About

By Richard Morin
Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, June 7, 2005; 7:17 AM

"A clear majority of Americans say President Bush is ignoring the public's concerns and instead has become distracted by issues that most people say they care little about, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

The survey found that 58 percent of those interviewed said Bush is concentrating mainly in his second term on problems and partisan squabbles that these respondents said were unimportant to them. Four in 10 -- 41 percent -- said the president was focused on important problems -- a double-digit drop from three years ago.

-- snip --

Underlying that finding is a continuing deep and bitter partisan divide that has fueled increasingly bitter fights in Congress, most recently over some of Bush's nominees to the federal courts. Relatively few Americans viewed that issue as particularly important."

3. Silly voters, republicans are for business and fundies.
Why does it take so long for some people to get it. Bush doesn't give a damn about anyone but those who pay to play.

I think Truman said, "If you want to live like a republican vote for a Democrat."

5. But a recent Zogby pool indicated only 30% think W is doing a poor job:
there is a disconnect here for W is concerned with full implementation of the PNAC agenda rather than doing what the people, most who support him, want.

29. Sorry, don't have a link, but the 30% poor is from a very recent Zogby
poll. Some of W's unfavorable ratings included the fair designation, but as I recall, only 30% of the total vote was for a poor rating.

10. Why should a corporatist court be a concern?
When we already have a corporatist executive, congress and media?

Rose siding has this thread on K-street complaining about the high cost of bribing our representatives. Something about a culture of "entitlement." (Oh, the irony.)
http://www.hillnews.com/thehill/export/TheHill/News/Frontpage/060705/kstreet.html

Hey, I don't even get a cheesy mass mailing of "thank you for your concerns" when I write my representative. If you call their office you get some secretary trying to stay awake who claims to "pass your concerns along" to YOUR REPRESENTATIVE.

We marched by the millions and were called a "focus group."

Congress is bankrupting the average American while the corporatists are so busy raking it in they've fallen to fighting among themselves.

Post-ABC Poll: Bush Ignoring Public Concerns

By Richard Morin
Washington Post Staff Writer

A clear majority of Americans say President Bush is ignoring the public's concerns and instead has become distracted by issues that most people say they care little about, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

The survey found that 58 percent of those interviewed said Bush is mainly concentrating in his second term on problems and partisan squabbles that these respondents said were unimportant to them. Four in 10--41 percent--said the president was focused on important problems--a double-digit drop from three years ago.

Underlying that finding is a continuing deep and bitter partisan divide that has fueled increasingly bitter fights in Congress, most recently over some of Bush's nominees to the federal courts. Relatively few Americans viewed that issue as particularly important.

According to the poll, nearly eight in 10 Democrats say Bush is not concentrating on issues they personally view as vital while three out of four Republicans disagree.

15. Uh oh.
"Ominously for Bush and the Republicans, a strong majority of self-described political independents--68 percent--say they disagreed with the president's priorities. That suggests Bush's mixed record in the second term on issues the public views as critical--particularly on Iraq and the economy--may be as much a liability for GOP candidates in next year's mid-term election as his performance in his first term was an asset to Republican congressional hopefuls last year and in 2002."

18. Not really.
Previous to Wilson, a trip to the UK would've taken weeks if not months of time for a person who is supposed to be running the country.

23. He's a lame duck...he only cares about
getting a few billion more for his buddies so that he can then get a Fatty lifetime board position on Carlyle when he's done.

Watch the groups he's pandering too now...and then trace the cash taht flows to him once he's out of office (assuming he leaves)...you'll see a 1 to 1 correlation.
