String of explosions kills 18 in northern Iraq |

The Associated Press Updated: 7:16 a.m. ET June 7, 2005BAGHDAD, Iraq - Four bomb attacks in seven minutes killed at least 18 people and wounded 39 in northern Iraq early Tuesday, a day after the government announced it has detained nearly 900 suspected militants in a two-week sweep in Baghdad.
A car bomb also exploded in northwestern Baghdad on Tuesday, wounding at least 28 people, said police Sgt. Bassem Mohammed.
Also Tuesday, the military said two U.S. Marines have died as a result of separate roadside bombings near the volatile western city of Fallujah.
