Shiite Cleric Al-Sadr Condemns Iraq Gov't & Occupation
Meanwhile Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has condemned the new Iraqi government and has vowed to stay from politics until after U.S. troops leave Iraq. In a rare interview, al-Sadr told the Associated Press "As long as the occupier is here, I will not interfere in the political process. I would like to condemn and denounce the last Iraqi government's decision to legalize the occupation." He went on to say "In reality, the electoral process was designed to legitimize the occupation, rather than ridding the country of the occupation." Al-Sadr also indirectly criticized Iraq's top Shiite cleric, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, for promoting the process that led to the formation of the country's Shiite-led government.

4. According To
Scott Ritter they should have obtained about 56% of the vote but that the numbers were changed. As they know that they have a majority they will not stop until they prevail.
