As Bush Fails, The America! Coalition Demands A Realignment of Priorities
http://www.americacoalition.org

June 7, 2005 (Washington, DC) -- The America! Coalition (TAC) has called on the Bush Administration to radically rethink its failing second-term agenda amidst growing public sentiment, reflected in recent polls, showing that the President's priorities are out of touch with the concerns of most Americans.

"This latest poll from ABC and The Washington Post confirms a continuing trend. Second terms are fleeting, and America cannot afford these four years to go wasted due to this Administration's severe miscalculations," said Oliver Willis, TAC co-director.

"This Administration's second-term agenda has gone down in flames before it even got off the ground," said TAC co-director Shant Mesrobian. "It's an agenda aimed at phasing out and dismantling American traditions that have made our country what it is today. Rather than trying to sell the public a radical, backward-looking bill of goods, its time the President gets serious about strengthening those American traditions."

According to a June 8 Washington Post report, a Washington Post-ABC News poll found that a "clear majority of Americans say President Bush is ignoring the public's concerns and instead has become distracted by issues that most people say they care little about."

5. Well maybe the MSM should have warned us in the first election.
They knew Bush would destroy our country piece by piece. This is 5 years to late.

8. Call on Bush to do strengthen America ?!? HA !!!
Don't hold your breath! BuSh just ain't that kinda guy. Never trust a murderer to do what's right. The only "right" thing BuSh could do now would be to repent and walk out into the streets of Baghdad with empty hands saying, "I'm sorry". Then he'll get what he deserves.

9. Why rethink Priorities?
Maybe because there is increasingly more scrutiny of a thoroughly corrupt and impeachable Executive and a public that is tired of a puppet government?

Stripping Rumsfeld and Bush of Impunity

When Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee last year, he was asked whether he "ordered or approved the use of sleep deprivation, intimidation by guard dogs, excessive noise, and inducing fear as an interrogation method for a prisoner in Abu Ghraib prison." Sanchez, who was head of the Pentagon’s Combined Joint Task Force-7 in Iraq, swore the answer was no. Under oath, he told the Senators he "never approved any of those measures to be used."

But a document the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) obtained from the Pentagon flat out contradicts Sanchez’s testimony. It’s a memorandum entitled "CJTF-7 Interrogation and Counter-Resistance Policy," dated September 14, 2003. In it, Sanchez approved several methods designed for "significantly increasing the fear level in a detainee." These included "sleep management"; "yelling, loud music, and light control: used to create fear, disorient detainee, and prolong capture shock"; and "presence of military working dogs: exploits Arab fear of dogs."

...

But going after Sanchez or Gonzales for perjury is the least of it. Sanchez may be personally culpable for war crimes and torture, according to Human Rights Watch. And Gonzales himself was one of the legal architects of the torture policies. As such, he may have been involved in "a conspiracy to immunize U.S. agents from criminal liability for torture and war crimes under U.S. law," according to Amnesty International’s recent report: "Guantánamo and Beyond: The Continuing Pursuit of Unchecked Executive Power."

14. "As Bush Fails, The America! Coalition Demands A Realignment of Priorities
The REAL PRIORITY is how do we get Joe and Jane BLUE collar to STOP thinking that Rethugs are looking out for their best interests?

It never ceases to amaze me to see the Truck Drivers, Carpenters, Welders, Laborers, Waiters, Waitresses, FIREFIGHTERS, etc.etc. who think and believe the Republican Party is out for their best interests. Why oh Why oh Why?????
