State G.O.P. Rebuffs Senator Who Sees Gay Republicans as "Disloyal"
A state senator from Queens jolted state Republican Party leaders this week by trying to block gay Republicans from obtaining greater power within the state party organization. The move occurred as the party was preparing political strategies for the 2006 election.

The move against the gay Republicans was rebuffed by other party members, led by the state chairman, Stephen J. Minarik, and the Manhattan chairman, James Ortenzio, who both argued that the party should have a "big tent" image heading into 2006.

Excluding gay Republicans could also have embarrassed party leaders who support gay rights, like Gov. George E. Pataki and Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, who is up for re-election this year.

The Queens senator, Serphin R. Maltese, shook up a typically sleepy meeting of the New York Republican State Committee on Monday by objecting specifically to proposed bylaw changes that included adding a representative of the New York Log Cabin Republicans, a gay rights group, to the party's powerful executive committee.

Let me see...

White billionares.

White millionares.

White evangelicals.

White gun nuts.

Big oil.

Big pharma.

I am sorry if I have excluded someone from the big tent. It is not because the tent is small, it's just my memory :)

P.S. Oops, I forgot Allan Keyes. He is in the big tent too.

3. "The party should have a "big tent" IMAGE". That's pretty telling.
Not that it should BE a big tent; it should just look like one. That's the Republican Party all over.

to accommodate influence peddlers, religious whack jobs, millionaires, demagogues and hypocrites. Oh and their egos and their war medals, like Joan Baez said "he has a medal he won in the war, weighs 600 pounds and sleeps near the door (For all you youngsters, she was singing about Ronald Raygunz).

7. But they're loyal to their PORTFOLIOS...
That's why they're ReTHUGlicans, They got rich under Ray-Gun, and they don't see any reason why the status-quo should change.

You can buy a really comfy spacious closet when you're a millionaire.....

8. on another political board I used to frequent...
I got into many arguments with a gay republican bush's ass-kisser guy.
I never understood his position. Finally, before the election, when Bush started talking about a marriage amendment, he started talking like he had second thoughts. Then, within a week, he was back to bush-kissing again. I asked "what's up? thought that marriage amendment thing was a deal breaker for you" to which he said he looked at the whole candidate and not just one issue.

Since that was his issue, I just didn't get it. Further, if you look at the "whole candidate" I still don't see how anyone can logically support the guy.

so...just chiming in that gay republicans are an enigma to me. Its like jews joining the nazis....whazzup with that?

6. Do you GET it now, you gay Republicans??!!
Do you?

Do you NOW understand what a tool , a mark, a pawn, a DUPE you are?

You were flimflammed, bamboozled, hornswoggled and double crossed, and you KNOW it!

Big tent my ASS...that is bloviation from Republicans that is code for "we need some gratuitous stooges representative of gays and minorities and women or we look like an all white, Christian only, men only party...we need to parade them out there, but not give them any REAL power"

My son, who is gay, called me just a while ago on this, and the word he used was Suckahs!

10. Serphin Maltese
His name raised a lot of red flags in my mind. My sister-in-law, who has two gay kids, lives in his district; Maspeth, Queens. She probably voted for him too based just on his ethnicity without checking out all his views. Some people are like that unfortunately. It is a very Italian Catholic area, so his being anti gay doesn't surprise me one bit. I went on his website and he is also endorsed by the State Conservative Party. He has won numerous awards from the State Catholic Conference for his support of pro life issues. They will probably give him another award now for his anti gay views too. Get the picture.

With Mehlman as their spokesman, a gay, and Drier always bashing gays, the hipocracy just doesn't stop from these 2 faced baskards.
