VOTING PROBLEM (25% added to bush's total in township)

A SHAWANO COUNTY COMMUNITY HAS A MAJOR DISCREPANCY OF ITS OWN.
THE MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL REPORTS THE TOWN OF HERMAN'S RESULTS GAVE GEORGE BUSH AN EXTRA 100 VOTES.
THAT'S AN ERROR OF NEARLY 25 PERCENT OF THE TOWN'S TOTAL VOTE.
snip
.

I'm so surprised that the county clerk would say it was a typing error - would they admit they did it on purpose? I don't think so. That is one of the most important parts of their job and to screw it up is a major deal. This person deserves serious job consequences and possibly criminal charges.

I would also like to know what party this person belongs to and if they are active. Our clerk sent out absentee ballots without return postage - she's and outspoken, active republican.

I also wonder if this was wide spread as I would not be surprised at low level members of the republican party taking it upon themselves to make sure bush got the popular vote. "To do what is necessary for the well being of the party and country" It's a sad commentary on how far I think some of the right will go to win. But it does remind me of the reaction of the right when one of those nut-jobs blows up a clinic or kills a doctor.

1. This apparently was more common than we thought
It almost appears that every one of them that could commit fraud did. perhaps I am just bitter, but I bet there were a lot of "typos" and I find it interesting that they unanimously favored the Dim Son...

3.  Error nets Bush 100 extra votes (Journal Sentinel Link)
Error nets Bush 100 extra votes

Town of Herman's 366 votes for president should have been 266

By GREG J. BOROWSKI

While Milwaukee officials blamed computer glitches and data-entry errors for its more-ballots-than-voters-recorded problem, that explanation simply won't fly in the Town of Herman, population 741.

The Shawano County town has no official registration list, and its voter records are kept by hand. Nevertheless, the presidential results in the Nov. 2 election were off by nearly 25%, with President Bush getting 100 extra votes by mistake.
snip

That is the same problem identified in Milwaukee, where there was a gap of 7,000 votes, with more ballots cast than people listed. That represented a discrepancy of 2.5%.

7. It Shows that Just as Important as Vote Counting
is vote reporting. This is the kind of thing that has to be caught, especially in a close election. I'm really appalled at this, even though it's only 100 votes.

11. just 100 votes.....
Just 100 votes in THIS PARTICULAR county.
In how many counties did this same thing happen across the country?

Could add up to thousands of votes.

9. I notice the same response you describe
You say:

"But it does remind me of the reaction of the right when one of those nut-jobs blows up a clinic or kills a doctor."

I remember in the news when Rudolf (or whatever his name was, the '96 Olympics bomber) was being lead by US Marshals to court, he was happy and joking. Like he didn't have a care in the world and all his jailers and him were good buddies.

As he was running and hiding, the people in the backwoods in the mountains viewed him as a hero, helped him to escape. These people are the very loving 'Christians' that say they follow Jesus. Southern Baptists mostly.

The guy deserves a date with old sparky. But he will get life instead.

10. Yup, yup, just a very small, unimportant,
little error. If you were to look closely at the election, not something blind folded Americans want to really do, you will see a pattern of very small, unimportant, little errors. But hey, it got the brush elected so just ignore your disappearing democracy.

13. This error would not have changed the election results
However, this error replicated in many, many (maybe even most) counties would.

God forbid we should seriously look into the matter.

18. Stealing Senior's Votes
Edited on Thu Jun-09-05 11:57 AM by john7788
I live in the north central part of the state, I can't mention the County for fear of retaliation, but I was told by the Chairman of our county republican party that the way they generate the proper votes for the candidate of their choice is through their work at the Senior Centers and Nursing Homes. They go to these facilities and "help" the oldsters fill out their absentee ballots.

He said, "We don't actually fill them out , well actually we do, because of course we understand the issues and candidates much better than these voters do." At hearing this I almost fell off my chair/dropped the phone.

I reported this conversation to the local DA who had the sheriff launch a quickie investigation. The investigation, without ever conducting an interview with me, resulted in a finding of "no cause/offense" and a finding that, "I certainly must have misunderstood him".

I'm sure I did not misunderstand what he said.

I dropped the whole thing after being warned of retaliation against me for having raised the issue.

I suggest that this kind of thing is happening throughout the country....probably by both parties....and that with the large majority of our citizens getting older, there will soon come an election where these stolen votes will be swinging elections at all levels of government. If in fact they did not already swing the election of Bush and Chaney in the past two elections.

This practice needs to be stopped. As for me, I don't want to be sitting in some Assisted Living Center 15 years from now, dribbling on my absentee ballot, as some political operative votes his/her preference over my signature.

20. The same exact thing happened in Florida
that is why the repugs were so anxious to loosen up the absentee ballot voting laws.

Ezzie Thomas in Orlando and Remzey Samarrai in Alachua County are two operatives that I know 'helped' people vote.

About another stolen election

Wheres Kerry,Dean,Obama,M. Moore and all of our so called Reps to speak up on this ? No spine

Something was rotten in the last 2 elections in Florida and then Ohio and know the stench lingers throughout the USA.

Rove+Bush=dirty rotten scum
