Cyclists bare all in oil protest (London)

More than 100 cyclists are riding around London naked, in a mass protest against dependency on the oil industry.

Protesters on The World Naked Bike Ride will cycle past Piccadilly Circus, Big Ben, Covent Garden, Oxford Street and the US Embassy on the 10km route. <snip>

Rider Melissa Evans, 32, said: "This shows how serious we are in opposing oil dependency.

"Like many people, I'm afraid of showing my body in public, but I'm more afraid of relying on environmentally-destructive fuels." <snip>

That's a sure way to get publicity - so the press focuses on the nakedness - but it gets the message out - otherwise they wouldn't get coverage, or it would all be negative because they're a 'nuisance' or something

Actually, if you have your bike set up correctly, and have good technique, a hard saddle is not that bad, but if there is a misadjustment, or your pedal stroke is not smooth, you are in for a real pain in the ass.

Back in the leather saddle days, the first thing you do is get it soaking wet, ride on it to give it a chance to mold to your butt. Tighten the saddle, let it dry, then loosen the saddle.

The leather riding shoe is handled much the same. Let them soak, then put them on and ride in them until they are dry. They will mold to your feet. Also the wet sole on the pedal will mark where to put the cleat.
