Rasmussen: Bush Job Approval 47%
The Freeplings' favorite poll has now come a-cropper for the Little President:

Approve 47%
Disapprove 51%

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Bush_Job_Approval.htm

A week or so back someone on DU said that the reason Bush's poll numbers are as (relatively) high as they are is because we're still not that far from the election and many Bush voters have yet to find it in themselves to admit they were taken for suckers.

You can only imagine where Bush's numbers will be in 2006.

2. it's the "C" word: collaborator
If rasmussen says 47% approve, you can bet it's more like 37%. That would bring it more in line with other polls. Hell, bush* could be on trial for war crimes at The Hague (please, oh please) and rasmussen would still sing for bushco*.

11. here's how my GOP husb rationalizes it

' well, I don't like some of the things going on, but I don't want the alternative. '

we didn't go into the 'things' or 'the alternative' because we are only just barely beginning to talk after the election. but he knows what i mean.

otoh, he never watches when * is on tv.

12. Yes, all that employment, real security, a great economy - too boring.
I had work, but now I'm semi-retired because I can't find a job because * thinks exporting computer jobs is good for the economy. Had to go bankrupt, but think of all the time I now have to work in my yard.

14. you may want to point out that bush* is one of the WORST presidents
in U.S. history, if not the worst. There's plenty of the finest minds in history, civics, political science, etc. that have already registered their displeasure and dissatisfaction with bushco*. So your hubbie doesn't want the alternative? Pray tell, what the hell would that be? No war, decent healthcare, living wages and a government that would take the environment and global warming seriously. Oh no, can't have that now, can we? Let's stay with the most corrupt administration possible that has brought us to the bring of international disaster, while literally giving the public weath to 1% of the population. Oh yeah, let's stay with what we know. Can't have any of that peace and prosperity. Yessiree, I know I want to be a corporate indentured servant for the rest of my life, with no safety net.

I was watching Rasmussen during the election and the polls predicted Bush's win quite accurately; the numbers were quite close

17. I think they are in the 30% range

and that is where they were before the election.

He LOST the election.

Kerry was WINNING going into the election.

They are still trying to pad the polls so they won't look like finished fools instead of incomplete fools.

9. Probably in the high 60's
Let's face it, if he's still almost 50% after all that's happened, if he ever does something right it'll shoot back into the 60's. Limpballs runs the country - whatever he says is what America believes. When bombs start to fall on Chicago, Rusty will blame it on Clinton and the ignorami that live in middle America will lap it up.

19. War support
All the households (the 47%) who support the Shrub should send one of their family members under 50 years old to fight in Iraq. With the severe shortage of manpower in the Army, what a better way to support your Pres. than to join the Army and really support the Troops.

21. This is also significant
Strongly Approve 24%
Somewhat Approve 23%
Somewhat Disapprove 14%
Strongly Disapprove 36%

So, the "disapprove"s are in general much stronger than the "approve"s.

23. What are these people smoking???
"Optimism about the War on Terror has fallen to the lowest level ever--just 42% believe the U.S. and its allies are winning. Thirty-nine-percent give the President good or excellent ratings for handling the situation in Iraq."

What hallucinogen are these people taking?? How can 42% of Americans think we are WINNING the war on terror??? And how can he possibly have a 47% approval? I really don't get it - people are too wedded to their points of view to be intelligent.
