New Saddam Footage released
Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 08:37 AM by cal04
(guess we need a distraction from DSM and poll numbers)

New footage has been released of Saddam Hussein being questioned by magistrates in Iraq.He was being asked about the killings of dozens of men after he survived an assassination attempt in 1982.The film of Saddam and other members of his administration being questioned was released by the Iraqi special tribunal. The killings at the Shi'ite village of Dujail are a relatively minor incident among the crimes with which the former president is accused.

There has been speculation of them being used as a test case in an early trial. Iraqi government officials have said they would like to put Saddam on trial in the next few months, before an election. Tribunal officials have said the timetable is not set

1. And if this had happened under Big Bill it would be
wagging the dog. Now it's all the MSM fault with their "librul" bias.

4. Minor incident??
"The killings at the Shi'ite village of Dujail are a relatively minor incident among the crimes with which the former president is accused."

Yahoo news considers the murder of an entire village (city), minor. What has the world come to?

The picture I'm waiting for is the one of Saddam Husein hanging upside down from a gas station sign, naked of course.

New video of Iraqi released; 1982 incident could become test case

Updated: 10:55 a.m. ET June 13, 2005BAGHDAD, Iraq - An Iraqi judge has questioned Saddam Hussein about the killings of dozens of men from a Shiite village where he survived an assassination attempt in 1982, the Iraqi special tribunal said on Monday.

It also released film of Saddam and other members of his administration being questioned. The killings at Dujail are a relatively minor incident among the crimes with which the former president is accused but there has been speculation of them being used as a test case in an early trial.

Iraqi government officials have said they would like to put Saddam on trial in the next few months, before an election, although tribunal officials have said the timetable is not set.

Swift trial, death sentence sought
A spokesman for the elected government, dominated by Shiites and Kurds, said this month that it was interested in a swift trial and death sentence for Saddam, and that therefore it was not necessary to prepare cases on all the many charges of genocide and crimes against humanity he faces.
