Democrats' moral values are stronger, Dean says

DNC chief brings his fiery message to Iowa

By THOMAS BEAUMONT

Cedar Rapids, Ia. -
<snip>

The former Vermont governor, whose outspokenness marked his bid for president in 2004, reiterated the essence of the controversial comments, that Democrats are more morally responsible than Republicans. "We are going to have a positive message and we are not going to be afraid to talk about moral values," said Dean, who headlined the state party's annual awards banquet in Cedar Rapids. "In fact, if you match our moral values against their moral values, we win."

He has raised $18 million since becoming chairman, more than any chairman in the first year since a presidential election, Dean spokeswoman Laura Gross said.

In fact, on Thursday and Friday, as the story of Dean's comments about Republicans rolled across cable news programs, the party took in $100,000 without a solicitation from party officials, Gross said.

5. Take That Dick Cheney! who said "Maybe his mother loved him but...
Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 11:49 PM by KoKo01
The Associated Press reports: "Howard Dean is 'over the top,' Vice President Dick Cheney says, calling the Democrats' chairman 'not the kind of individual you want to have representing your political party.'

".'I've never been able to understand his appeal. Maybe his mother loved him, but I've never met anybody who does. He's never won anything, as best I can tell,'
Cheney said in an interview to be aired Monday on Fox News Channel's 'Hannity & Colmes.'."

wasn't he elected Governor of Vermont? Strange talk coming from somebody who's basically ruined everything he's ever been involved in. Silly Dick.

Hey dick, what about the Governorship of Vermont, and chairmanship of the DNC? I'd consider those as winning something.

It hasn't been cashed yet so there's a tiny bit more than $100,000.

I wrote my check to the DNC and I put In Honor of Howard Dean.

27. $1 million per week since becoming DNC Chair
Some of that is with solicitation campaigns.

DNC raise $100,000 in 24-48 hours unsolicited over the so called "Dean gaffe."

21. Give'em Hell Howard!
Dean speaks for me too. Last night's Daily Show had a segment on Dean's comments. At first I thought Jon was being way too critical of Howard, but when he played a clip of Cheney saying "Dean's comments were over the top". Jon then made a comments that was way over the top. In fact it was censored. (But you can read Jon's lips)

The segment went something like this:
"Over the top, saying the Republicans are a white Christian party is not over the top. That's not really an offensive statement to me, at all. An offensive statement would be something like this: Republicans all sodomize sheep and drink piss straight from the cock. (Big applause) Obviously that's not true but I'm just trying to remind people what over the top really means."

It was hilarious!

24. Dean is everywhere! He's coming back to TEXAS this wkend - yea!
Whenever he comes here it really rallies the troops and fires up the grassroots. It seems Dean has been all over the US map - what a hugely refreshing change down here!

BTW, I sent $100 to the DNC yesterday, telling them "Howard Dean speaks for me".

Godspeed Good Doctor!

26. Yeah, And She's Normally Conservative
She pointed out that most of the Democrats criticizing Dean probably have Presidential ambitions. Although, she did criticize Dean's delivery. Overall, I think her column was very fair (and balanced) although, she did neglect to mention the impact media spin had on Dean's statements.

28. The most imporant paragraph in the entire article:
"Howard Dean's rhetoric goes way beyond what is considered acceptable public discourse, which is why even the most partisan of partisan Democrats are speaking out against him," Carl Forti, communications director for the National Republican Congressional Committee, said in a statement.
------
Our so-called 'moderate' Dem's who spoke out against Dean are being spun as left-wing extremists. So-called moderation does not seem to gain a Dem anything. You have to wonder when the (Dem) Dean critics are going to figure this out...

33. Stop Being A Sucker. The Moderate Democrats Didn't Speak Out Against Dean
for the most part. Their statements were butchered by both the mediawhores AND hyperventilating DU'ers. Just the way Dean's comments were either selectively quoted, missing context or blown out of proportion.

And the part of the elected Dems statements that 'criticized' Dean were so mild... it made the mediawhores and the DU'ers who swallowed their bait look silly for trying to make a mountain from a molehill.

Maybe lots of DU'ers could learn a freaking lesson here. But I doubt it. The urge to bash elected Democrats and the need to blindly follow Dean with no criticism whatsoever is too strong.

By the way, is Feingold a moderate Democrat?
