MoveOn.on, Conyers to deliver Downing letters to Bush
RAW STORY

From a release issued to RAW STORY Thursday morning:

#
* Press Event Today, 4 p.m. 540,000 Petitions Delivered to President Bush Demanding The Truth About Iraq War ** DOWNING STREET MEMOS TRIGGER PUBLIC OUTRAGE OVER DECEPTION

Washington DC – Representative John Conyers (D-MI) today will hand-deliver to the White House a petition signed by 105 members of Congress and more than 540,000 Americans demanding that President Bush provide a detailed response to the smoking gun evidence in the Downing Street memos of deceptions about the war in Iraq.

“The Downing Street memos are absolute proof that President Bush lied to the American people,” said Tom Matzzie, MoveOn PAC Washington Director. “He lied about the reasons we went to war, the post- war plans, the human and financial cost of the war, and now he is lying about America’s future plans in Iraq.”

MoveOn PAC, other organizations and thousands of ordinary Americans over the past two weeks gathered the signatures for Rep. Conyers. MoveOn PAC gathered more than 360,000 signatures, two-thirds of the total signatures on the petition.

1. Is he actually going to get it to Bush?
Or is he going to get shut out and then in a press conference Bush can call the 540,000 a focus group like he did when we protested before the war?

6. I read somewhere that he would be delivering them "to the gate".
The "gatekeeper" will receive them...

2. I wish they would do it in a dramatic way like PRAY

They need a prayer sit in across from the WH
They could pray over the signatures.
Maybe then the rethugs would be afraid to question their aims.

3. I hear he was going to try to deliver it Directly to the White House
He should bring the "Letters of Impeachment" with him too!

They might not except them, but I bet that would get reported by the MSM Whores.

5. I hope it's not another Max Cleland snub.
Remember when Cleland tried to deliver a letter to Bush at Crawford?

It's tough to predict. Bush "takes off the gloves" one night, then has a let's be friends BBQ the next! With his poll numbers, Rove just might decide to set up a podium and hold an impromptu Press Conference with Bush and Conyers. A Photo-op moment follows with Bush grinning ear to ear and an arm around Conyers' shoulders.

8. It would be sooo wonderful
It would truly be a coup if he had some media filming the whole thing. Is it too much to hope for that at least one of the camera crews that will cover the hearing will actually follow to the WH? I know, believe it when I see it. One can only hope...
