Medical marijuana activist arrested after raid
A prominent local medical marijuana activist was arrested on a federal warrant Wednesday night after authorities raided his Green Valley home.

Pierre Werner, 34, runs Primary Caregivers and Consultants and uses marijuana to treat his bipolarity and schizophrenia. He was still being held in custody this morning, his attorney Ryan Mortier said, which worried the lawyer.

"My first reaction was I was concerned because he is a medical marijuana patient and if he doesn't have his medication the symptoms of his bipolar disorder and schizophrenia come out," Mortier said, adding that he planned to see if Werner would be allowed to puff his 10 daily joints while in jail.

1. That sucks!
But I guess he's the first one to be rounded up, since the Supreme Court sided with evil coporations rather than with freedom. I'm sure there will be more med patients busted, and hopefully wont die in prison..

STOP THE INSANITY!

3. This war has gone on too long.
What will the next president do to stop it?? Kerry never mentioned doing anything to stop it, I mean, I voted for him, but the Dems just go along with the Repugs when it comes to the drug war.

I think when the planet's been trashed by petrolium products, then, only then will they grow hemp again, and allow cannabis to be legal.

5. It will happen someday
but not until oil's been exhausted, IMO.
It's all about the buck, always is, in America .. and too many coprotate intersts are against cannabis because it's a threat to their profits.

6. These jack booted federal agents are in violation of state law
If I was the governor of that state I would call out the state National Guard to enforce state law against heavy handed thugs from the federal government.

8. While Big Pharma controls the gubmint, we should expect this as
commonplace. If folks couldn't grow it themselves and absolutely HAD to go to Big Pharma for their medical marijuana, and had to pay the huge markup, there'd be much less of an issue. It's not about morals or any "war on drugs" I don't think. It's about the war on America being fought on the corporate level where big industry has the money, troops and influence.

10. That's it in a nutshell. PHARMA can't control it, so they eradicate it.
"You won't get any more $$$$$ from us for your campaigns unless you stomp out these upstarts. Tell the people they're wild-assed druggies and undermine the security of our country..."

If PHARMA could control it we would be bombarded with "Ask your Doctor" ads on Teeeee-Veeeeee for "New Tok-A-Smok! The ALL-NATURAL pain reliever!"

9. My Dad is a somewhat well-known psychiatrist
He actually did human marijuana and hash oil experiments back in the '60s when it was easy to get approval for such studies. My dad is a major sleep researcher and he said that marijuana is the only thing that either maintains or actually increases Stage 4 (Delta wave) deep sleep, the most beneficial stage (often confused with REM sleep, a much lighter stage).

He also believes marijuana would be a useful therapy for other psychiatric problems such as the ones suffered by this imprisoned patient. Fuck the supreme court. One nation, under hypocrisy.

11. 10 daily joints?
In jail?

Yeah....right....the fascist pig dogs will never allow it.

This is the first I have heard of someone treating bipolarity and schizophrenia with weed.
