Syria-European Union, Politics, 6/17/2005

The European Union did not take any attitude to isolate Syria, on the contrary, the EU has supported Syria's stances in different fields of economy, technology and logistics, Beatrice Patri, head of the EU parliamentary delegation to Syria said Thursday.

During the opening ceremony of EU information technology center, head of the EU Commission delegation in Syria, Frank Hesske, described opening the information technology center as a positive step which can offer new services in a professional way. "The center will undertake organizing and coordinating works in the industrial chamber and providing all needed services during a record time" Hesske said.

He clarified that the EU Commission will continue supporting small and intermediate projects in Syria.

Both chairmen of the industrial and trade chambers in Aleppo stressed that the Syrian-EU partnership agreement will realize positive results for both sides particularly in the productive and constructive cooperation between Syria and the EU's countries in institutional fields.
