CNN: Illegal immigrants accessed nuclear weapons facility

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sixteen illegal immigrants gained access last year to one of the most sensitive weapons sites in the country, according to a report issued Monday by the Department of Energy's inspector general.

The inspector general's investigation found the illegal immigrants were construction workers on jobs at the Y-12 National Security Complex near Knoxville, Tennessee.

The workers used "false documents" and "gained access to the ... site on multiple occasions," the report said.

The report details how the workers, apparently using fake green cards, were able to obtain access badges.

Could this be the government's way of ensuring Americans remain hysterical about terrorism and immigration? If our government can put anthrax in the mail to scare us after 9/11, they can surely hire a few people to "infiltrate" a nuclear weapons plant. I do think criminals work inside our government working to keep Americans paranoid and Republicans in power.

7. I worked at an electric company with nuclear power plant. My boss

got a promotion to a position at the nuclear plant. She partied for 6 weeks before she went. Showed up for work. Someone forgot to get the security clearance for her. It took 2 week to get the clearance. That was 25 years ago. Nice to see things have gotten tighter.

12. The other HUGE point here is that killing the myth about immigrants

taking jobs that others don't want. There are plenty of African-American, highly skilled construction laborers and others who can't get a job with a major building contractor because the contractors would rather use the slave labor of illegal immigrant workers. It's a lie that the Mexicans are working jobs that "even blacks don't want." Many blacks simply can't get a job because they demand honest wages and benefits that companies don't want to pay.

How about social security taxes, etc? I'd be very happy if all regulation of immigrants was passed over to the Department of Labor. In my book, that would resolve 99% of any issues.
