U.S. poll shows new slip in Iraq support:-
WASHINGTON | June 21, 2005 4:11:19 PM IST

U.S. support for military presence in Iraq has slipped 8 percent from March to 39 percent overall, says a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll published Tuesday.

In the national telephone survey taken of 1,006 adults, 59 percent said they were dissatisfied with results from the war on terrorism. Just 10 percent of respondents said they were very satisfied with the way things were going in the war on terrorism, down from 19 percent in a February poll.

Regardless of the dissatisfaction on the terror front, just 4 percent said they considered a terror attack in the United States over the next few weeks very likely, which was down from 10 percent in February.

Asked about President George Bush's performance, 47 percent of those surveyed said they approved of how he was doing his job, the same percentage as earlier this month.

2. I don't believe the 47% for one minute.
37% maybe. On a good day, with no speeches.

7. I disagree
North Americans (yes, Canadians too) have short attention spans and a special breed of ignorance derived from over-sensationalization and excess apathy.

I fully believe 47% of Americans believe Bush is doing a good job, and will continue to until it either personally affects their wallet or their family in a tangible way. Otherwise, "Well SHUCKS, that just ain't me gettin hurt, so who cares?!"

8. Gallup/CNN tends to have Bush's approval
several points higher than most other polls; you can see that on http://www.pollingreport.com. Even so, his disapproval rating is 51 percent, which is tied for the highest ever in that poll.

6. 59 to 56 percent of Americans Objectively Pro-Saddam!
Isn't it how the media spins these things? That the Americans don't share the "will" of the president?
