Memo to the Democratic Party: If you'd like to win back the votes of every NASCAR Dad in the country, read the following article carefully. The Supreme Court now says that multi-billion dollar development companies may sieze your home to benefit a private real estate development. Not a public project like a dam, a highway, or a bridge. In this case, it's a privately owned office park.
Memo to the Democratic Party: Whose homes are going to be siezed, I wonder? 5,000 square foot mini-mansions in the suburbs? Nope. It's going to be the home of a blue collar family trying to make it on two incomes and still not quite getting by. The same people who have been, inexplicably, voting Republican for the past three election cycles.
Memo to the Democratic Party: This issue combines campaign finance reform (those local politicians getting greased with developers' campaign contribution), protecting and defending the middle class (my home is no longer my castle) and even environmental protection (small farms being turned into mini-malls causing even more suburban sprawl).
Memo to the Democratic Party: If you don't pick up this issue and beat the Republicans to death with it, you're stone-cold stupid.
