E-mail found of ex-aide of Conyers, a fugitive convicted of stealing $162K
Anybody care to guess on how long it will take before the GOP grabs ahold of this news item and broadcasts it worldwide?
I'll bet you Hannity covers it today for 3 hours.

DETROIT -- The FBI has obtained e-mails from a former aide to U.S. Rep. John Conyers, D-Detroit, who skipped town to avoid a federal prison sentence.

DeWayne Boyd, 48, of Detroit was sentenced to 30 to 46 months in prison April 11 by U.S. District Judge Robert H. Cleland, following his Dec. 15 convictions on seven counts of mail fraud, theft of government property, false statements and bankruptcy fraud. The government said he stole about $162,000 from four vendors and sponsors of a 1999 conference in New Orleans for black farmers. One sponsor was the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which gave $50,000 for the conference.

Boyd failed to appear at his sentencing and left town that day, sparking an FBI effort to track him down.

On May 9, Yahoo Inc. turned over e-mails from Boyd's account from April 10 through May 8, under a federal search warrant signed by Cleland. The warrant was made public late last week in U.S. District Court.

The FBI wouldn't say what was in the e-mail, however, The Detroit News has received several e-mails from Boyd, including one on May 14 in which wrote: "I am in essence in exile forced away from my family which I love dearly and having to fight this injustice."

1. That? It's OLD NEWS
Haha, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

This is how scared they are; they'll begin extracting a political price from their challengers. Stand by Conyers as well as you can...

9. Yes, haha, you may have heard repubs use the term "old news" on DSM
I turned it around on them!

Gotta love people who'll tear down their opponents and simultaneously ignore moral challenge. Conyers has not heard the last of them, unfortunately, so voice your support and reprehension at this sort of tactic.

3. Unlike republican thieves, this guy was CONVICTED. He took off
to avoid incarceration.

Republican thieves never even see the inside of a courtroom. Not to mention the amounts that they steal and the people they defraud make this look like jaywalking.

because he's doing things against them.

They did the same thing with one of Hillary's workers, remember?

18. So What?
Did Conyers commit any crimes? Did Conyers HELP his EX-aide commit crimes?

Since when is it Conyers fault that this guy broke the law and was convicted?

If the pukes bring this up....Conyers should say: Yeah......AND?.....

19. I agree. You're exactly right. They also did this to
Biden when one of his past aides was convicted of misusing funds.

I was just pointing out that it's typical tactic and the press should stop falling for it.

16. What about Bush's Enron friends? They devastated Californians
Ripped them off for multiple millions, shut down their energy during peak heat periods completely, laughed their @$$e$ off about it in e-mails, set up Schwarzenneger's arrival as California's governor, etc., etc. and they're doing just fine.

Now THERE'S a group of e-mails which should have crucified THEM.

32. Well, it's not like anyone found him dead in Conyers' office, now, is it?
I mean, a young woman, an aide found dead in a Congressperson's office would absolutely horrify everybody and the media would never stop investigating until the truth came out.

Just ask Lori Klaustis' parents. Better yet, ask Joe Scarbourough.

:sarcasm:

It was in 2001, which of course means it's less old news than 1999.
