ITALY JUDGE ORDERS ARREST OF 13 CIA AGENTS

ROME (AP) (6/24/05) -- An Italian judge has ordered the arrest of 13 CIA agents for allegedly helping deport an imam to Egypt as part of U.S. anti-terrorism efforts, an Italian official familiar with the investigation said Friday.

The agents are suspected in the seizure of an Egyptian-born imam identified as Abu Omar on the streets of Milan in February 2003, according to the official, who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to release the information.

The U.S. Embassy in Rome declined to comment.

Prosecutors believe the agents seized Omar as part of the CIA's "extraordinary rendition" program, in which terror suspects are transferred to third countries without court approval, according to reports Friday in newspapers Corriere della Sera and Il Giorno…

4. How long 'til some nation starts arresting those higher up
who approved the torture of prisoners, not to mention an illegal war?

If I were Bush, Cheney or Rumsfeld, I wouldn't be going overseas anytime soon.

We should all go buy Italian products. I find it refreshing to see a country that actually believes in standing up for human rights.

It means we have to bomb it :sarcasm:

edited to add: if other nations are now going to start arresting US citizens for what they are doing in their jobs as government employees, the shit is truly about to hit the fan. This is not good at all.
