Suicide car bombs kills 6 in attack on police officers home

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A suicide car bomber blew himself up Saturday outside a police officer's home in a city north of Baghdad, killing at least six people and injuring about 13 others, police said.

The suicide bomber, accompanied by another five cars loaded with heavily armed insurgents, slammed into a wall outside the home of Lt. Muthana al-Shaker - a member of a special forces unit - in Samarra, 60 miles north of Baghdad, said Lt. Qassim Mohammed of the Samarra police.

All those killed were on the street when the attack occurred and not in al-Shaker's house. He was not injured, Mohammed said.
