Contractor under inquiry helped (Katherine) Harris' campaign
June 26, 2005

A defense contractor under federal investigation gave Rep. Katherine Harris, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, about $42,000 during the 2003-04 election cycle.

MZM Inc., a Washington company that does millions of dollars of work for the federal government, has been in the news for its role in a deal with Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham, R-Calif. Cunningham sold a house to MZM founder Mitchell Wade, who lost money on it after putting it back on the market almost immediately.

Harris, R-Sarasota, got $10,000 from the MZM political action committee, and another $32,000 from MZM employees, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, which tracks campaign money.

The $32,000 came in 16 checks for $2,000 each - 14 of them written on one day, March 23, 2004.

2. Destroying Harris politically is probably necessary
If Jeb is to have any chance of being nominated. He's double crossed her once already after her yeoman services as Secretary of State in Florida lying about Jeb's manipulation of the 2000 election results and the purported "Chinese Wall" that didn't exist. This thing with MZM is deliberate.

7. What do you mean that the thing with MZM is deliberate? And
what is the reference to the Chinese Wall? Sounds like you've got some information that I would love to have, so please tell us more!

9. Harris claimed that Jeb had nothing to do with election

...decision making. In other words that she wasn't given any direction from the governor as to her official duties as election supervisor. At least one video and one press account I read gave the appearance that this was a falsehood. In any case, she was the state chair of the elect W bush campaign. But I am just speculating and can't corroborate what I'm saying. This is my perception.

They pushed her out of the party nomination for the vacant Senate seat. She had to settle for a seat in the house. I'm just guessing but MZM as a defense contractor does what it is told to do. These kinds of contractors are little more than fronts for intel operations. If Harris isn't discredited in the eyes of her own party she will be in a strong position to blackmail Jeb Bush. Compare to Cheney who covered up HW Bush wrongdoing when he was in the House. Colin Powell similarly is a coverup artist. This is how positions at the top are earned.

Clinton is untouchable because of the Mena Arkansas drug operations he protected for the Bushes during Iran Contra. The Lewinsky affair was an attempted end around the bargain. It failed becuase of Clinton's continuing disclosures of Mena related operations through Maxine Waters during the Senate deliberations. Everyone backed off. This is a similar sort of operation, IMHO.

3. No surprise there....
money is their only god and anyone who wants those fat, government contracts had better pony up with the cash. My only surprise is that she sold herself so cheaply. I guess an old whore can't set her price anymore, it's what the john is willing to pay.
I hope the people of Florida send this disgusting snake back into her pit.

4. So the story about MZM strongarming employees to write checks
appears to be all about Katheleen Harris. What to you want to bet that those 14 checks were all dated the date of the MZM strongarming meeting.

8. You mean the former Secretary of the State of Florida is corrupt?
You mean she might have done something illegal?

At least she can't say she didn't know the laws.

10. The Republicans Want To Destroy Her
I mean, this is just my theory. The Republicans owe her, "like big time." She delivered, or at the very least, played a major role in delivering, Florida (and thus, the Presidency) for Dubya in 2000. Surely, she expected, if was not outright promised, some quid pro quo.

She wanted to run for Senate last year. But the Rove machine wanted Martinez, so Harris was "promised" a clear shot in 2008, to unseat Nelson (they're gunning for him anyway - they can't believe they let him beat McCollum in 2000, but McCollum is not a favored child).

Only now, poll numbers are coming out, and it looks like Harris would have a tough time beating Nelson. Of course, they could fall back on their old tricks, but a Nelson/Harris match up may not be close enough for them to steal. So now, they have to find a graceful way to extricate themselves from their "promise" to Harris without it looking too obviously like they stabbed her in the back.

12. Thanks for that info
Harris knows too much about the 2000 election in Florida to make mad.

John Bolton does too.

That's why he's going to be the UN Nominee I figure, even if it takes a recess appointment.
