Crime-busting cameras: a US-city experiment
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 06:16 AM by Daphne08
Big Brother is here... This needs to be stopped now or they will be spying on us all over the place!

"What the federal government seems to be telling us is, 'We want you to use this equipment for other purposes as well ... but understand that primary role is homeland security,' " says Ash.

"We have at least 10 places around the nation that ... are part of a pilot program," says Michelle Petrovich, a spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security in Washington. Ms. Petrovich will not confirm that Chelsea represents one such program. Instead, she describes them collectively.

" feed into the local emergency operations centers, for example," she says. "It's intended to give a larger view for state and local law enforcement.... goes into our Homeland Security operations center as well, so we have an equal view."

2. Because you're not?
These cameras anger me so much.

What are the chances of terrorist activity right in front of some camera?

This is meant to intimidate us.

It's another test... to see how far we will let them go in their destruction of our privacy!
