Iraqi American support for war plummets

DETROIT (AP) - President Bush is losing support among Arab Americans in the Detroit area. A new EPIC-MRA poll says backing for his policies in Iraq has plunged in the past two years.

Results show 77 percent giving Bush a "just fair" or "poor" rating for his handling of the Iraq war. Another 18 percent gave the president an "excellent" or "pretty good" rating. Five percent were undecided.

Iraqi Americans once ranked among Bush's biggest supporters among the region's Middle Eastern population.

The survey had an error margin of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.
