Dosanjh reportedly set to ban bulk drug sales (Canada -affects states)

In an effort to crack down on the sale of low-priced drugs to the United States, Ottawa is expected to soon announce a ban on bulk sales of pharmaceuticals.

According to a report published in the Winnipeg Free Press Monday, federal sources say Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh is also set to unveil a monitoring system to track how many drugs are sold from Canada to the U.S.

Despite months of railing against the growing online drug trade, the proposed curbs are not expected to stop sales to individuals, however.

Instead, echoing recommendations by Canada's Internet pharmacists as well as the Commons health committee, the new measures are expected to take aim at shutting down plans by some U.S. state to bulk-purchase medicines from north of the border.

1. I don't see why Canada should allow the corrupt US

to piggyback on their more sensible and economical way of dealing with the drug companies.

Let Americans suffer for allowing Republicans and DINO's to sell them out- too bad, but they deserve it- and it's the only way they'll ever get a clue.

2. I agree, states being able to purchase bulk drugs in Canada

at a reduced price just stops Congress from acting to rein in the pharmacutical companies and their lobbyists, imo.

I think Dosangh's decision is a balanced one, still allow individuals to purchase drugs but not state sponsored bulk-buys.
