3. Your numbers are misleading. . .
You speak of American dead but the comparative daily averages you show are for Coalition dead. I haven't worked all the numbers, but if you only look at US deaths, the average for 11/03 is only 2.73 (the Coalition of the Billing chalked up 28 deaths that month). In 9/04, there were an average of 2.66 Americans killed each day, not 2.9 (again, the Coalition Billed for 7 that month).

This month's average, sans Coalition dead, is 2.77, not 2.89. Therefore, if the numbers hold for this month, rather than being the fifth most deadly month, it will be the third most deadly.

I prefer to count the Coalition dead among the American, as they wouldn't be there if it weren't for the US. And if ShrubCo is going to insist the nation recognize the Coalition's contribution ("What about Poland?" he screamed moronically), then ShrubCo must be held to account for the Coalition's losses, too.

So rather than 1,742 dead, the true count is 1,930.

4. I hope that you can post updates on the coalition deaths from time to
time. What about Poland indeed!

6. You are right. I quickly copied and pasted numbers, is misleading.
1742 is only official USA military deaths in Iraq. The daily averages are adding all three of these #s (USA, UK, Other). And they are just for "official coalition" military deaths.

I am putting USA + UK + Others on other postings for totals.
1742 + 89 + 99 right now.

Sorry for the confusion in numbers, I copied and pasted too fast without being clear on whom. It is too many any way I count it.

7. It's understandable what you did, u-p. . .
and yes, you are right. . . it's way too many anyway its counted.

(Have you clicked on the "Coalition Fatalities by Location Across Time" link on the icasualties site. It's just above the "Military Fatalities" listing. It puts the lie to BushCo's assertion that the insurgency is localized in the triangle around Baghdad. Hell, it's everywhere where there are cities in Iraq. Just follow the rivers.)

8. This is a very interesting, sad page.
I think it's the one I included in my OP here, time and location of deaths. Not bloody graphic, but really really really sad. I like this site, good info.

5. Most deadly months since the "end of hostilities".
11/05 4.7 per day, 137 US fatalities
4/04 4.67 per day, 135 US fatalities
1/05 4.1 per day, 107 US fatalities
11/03 3.67 per day, 82 US fatalities
9/04 2.9 per day, 80 US fatalities
6/05 2.89 per day, 75 US fatalities (so far)
5/05 2.84 per day, 80 US fatalities
5/04 2.71 per day, 80 US fatalities

It looks like we're currently in about 6th place for this month if you exclude the first 12 days of the invasion.

9. What happens if Rove gets his 1776 on July 4th?
Do they all run around beating on their chests and hooting like a bunch of glass-shitting chimpanzees about how this is some kind of "sign" from Jeebus?
